Perfect phone for me

I was one of the Samsung Note 7 victims & it turns out I am glad for it as I like the LG V20 even more. Size is the same without the curved edges that I found annoying, especially with screen protectors. My eyes can't notice the difference with the lack of Samsung's OLED screen. I had & used the Note 7 for a few weeks before returning it & I have no complaints with the color, clarity & brightness of the V20. And here is what makes the LG V20 better than the Note 7...removable battery, DAC audio (I like listening to music). And the battery lasts longer than the Note 7. Specs may seem worse on paper but this phone simply holds its charge much better and with a good amount of use over 18 hrs it ends with about 30-40%...if I take it easy with the online surfing I could probably go 2 full days before needing to recharge. Price is a huge benefit with Verizon. The full price is just 672, about 200 less than the other carriers. And I took advantage of the 200 credit with my Samsung Galaxy S5 trade in (worth 60 for trade in without the promo). So for a bit over 450 (just about 100 more than the 2 yr contract upgrade with the Note 7) I have this awesome phone and I am still month to month with Verizon so if I choose to use the upgrade next yr I can. But unless some revolutionary phone comes out next yr I can easily see myself enjoying this phone for at least a couple of years. And the free premium headphones worth 180 is the icing on the cake. Really looking forward to receiving those to fully appreciate the DAC. Plus this may be the last removable battery & headphone jack phone available should Samsung copy Apple's lack of headphone jack move. I highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you are with Verizon due to the price. I am using an Incipio case (dark red & black) and IQ Shield Matte (virtually fingerprint free, reduces glare) screen protector and am very pleased with these as well.

Amazing for the price

Unless I was misinformed by Best Buy, this computer has been discontinued by Asus. By the time I decided to pull the trigger on this, I was initially upset to not find this on the floor at Best Buy. The "newer" Asus supposedly taking its place is inferior spec wise & costs less. This model has only been around since about April I believe with excellent reviews. Perhaps it was not selling the way they wanted at that price point. There was one left as an open box and it was marked down from 1499 to 1274, and the BB salesperson knocked a bit more off the price bringing it to 1190. That was a steal & I may have gotten the last of this computer at my local BB if it really is discontinued. After my OCD inspection the computer is perfect, can't see a scratch or any imperfection anywhere. Just setting it up so far, hooked up a blu ray disc drive, wireless mouse, printer, and so far so good on this being as good as brand new. Even for the full priced 1500 this is hard to beat spec wise. Combo of the 16gb of RAM, 512 gb SSD & 2 tb hard drive, i7 processor, 4K display, and premium quality metal material is not just hard to find in other laptops, but desktops as well. I am coming from a 5 yr old more basic Gateway (for about 450) that had run its course. 3 gb ram, no ssd, i3 processor, 320 gb hard drive. In 2011 it was very good but now it is like a turtle to get going. This Asus is like lightning in comparison. From turned off to scanning your face, booting up, and online...probably a bit under 10 seconds. Shut down is almost immediate, 2 to 3 seconds, but if you have the keyboard lit that part shuts off in about 7 seconds. To say this bad boy is a breath of fresh air is an understatement... The touch screen & foldover to tablet features are very nice to have too; however I will probably use the standard laptop mode most of the time on this. My smartphone is my preferred touch screen tablet. If you are wanting this kind of computer and see it still available, even if just an open box (still returnable and with the same warranty), grab it. Especially now since you will get a great deal on it most likely.

Spectacular TV

55" is the perfect size for my place. Huge improvement vs the 4 yr old 40" LCD I am replacing. The design is aesthetically pleasing and sleek. Screen is not much thicker than my phone. Brilliant color accuracy which Sony is known for. 4K and upconverted 1080p both look amazing. ARC hdmi connection to my Yamaha receiver works perfectly. Sound of the tv itself, adequate I suppose but I usually turn on my surround sound system so the sound is as good as the picture. 3D glasses were sold out so I have no comment yet on this feature but will enjoy using it. I have a roku which is good to have as a backup when the smart part of this tv acts up. I believe dedicated streamers like roku are more reliable than smart tvs. Although the amount of channels available on the tv itself is decent, it's still not close to what roku offers. Being able to use the 4k version of netflix is the one advantage of the tv since roku has not yet come out with 4k. Only nitpick to the picture is the slight "bleed" in the corners on black or grey screens. Not always noticeable (only at certain angles and at night with dim lighting) and I have read this is a common imperfection for all leds, especially edge lit ones like this model. However the overall uniformity is good and when I stop obsessing about this I stop noticing it. If I could rate this a 4.8 I would based on the minor imperfections, but this is way closer to a 5 than 4 to me.

Best bookshelf speakers for under $100 out there

Dollar for dollar, you can't go wrong with these. I compared these to the other pair of bookshelfs under $100 at Best Buy (Pioneer#, and the Polks blew the Pioneers away. The next step up is double the price and more, and the sound improvement is very minor #mostly you get better bass with the more expensive bookshelf options#. I bought these along with a Yamaha RX-V373 receiver to begin my new surround set-up, and since I was going to move these to the rear after getting decent floor speakers for the front, it was an easy decision to choose these. More than sufficient for what you'd need with rear quality. While I waited for the front speakers, I did get to use these little babies out as my only 2 speakers. Not bad at all considering their size & price. Very clean/crisp sound you'd expect from Polk, and tight, decent bass but not chest thumping. I now have these complementing Polk TSI 400s as the fronts, a BIC center channel DV-32CLR, looking into subwoofers to perfect the experience #although the TSI 400s are pretty impressive bass wise if you live in a condo like I do). If you are more of a movie watcher, getting two pairs of these T15s for the fronts & rears, complementing with a center & subwoofer could be an affordable, yet very effective combination. I enjoy music as well as movies, so my set up with good towers for fronts works very nicely. As far as the T15s go...I couldn't expect any better performance from rear surrounds. Buy these and you will agree!
What's great about it: Polk quality, clear/crisp sound & good frequency range for a bookshelf speaker
What's not so great: Not the best to use as main/front speakers
