Great TV - Bad HDR Support
on August 14, 2016
Posted by: jojosbestbuyorders
I purchased this TV for its 4k & HDR capabilities (with an Obox One S). It seems an incompatibility is in place. I have spent hours on the phone with Vizio & MS. When color subsampling is enable (for hdmi 1)-which is needed for HDR, the Visio screen goes blank (audio and video stop) for a few seconds then returns normal video. It will do this every so often. Turn color subsampling off and it stops. Put the Xbox on other ports or use another device and all works fine. But the moment color sampling is back on video starts to acting up. MS insists it’s a Visio issue. Hours and multiple calls with Visio and they agree it’s an incompatibility issue which they don’t have a newer firmware for so nothing can be done at this time. TV already has: 2.0.13.13. So I am a god amount of money on the two devices just so I could use HDR and it can’t even be done. So if you want to buy this TV for its HDR capability I can’t suggest it.

Bad Cable
on November 30, 2014
Posted by: jojosbestbuyorders
Needed a longer cable, purchased this one.... Was a bad idea-at least for me. It seems to work ok for others but for some reason I get feedback on my sub with this cable plugged in. To try and isolate the issue I went as far as to disconnect every cable even power from all components. Still had the issue... I then unplugged the sub and had power pulled from every item in the room. Connected only power to the sub and this cable (without connecting to the receiver) and the feedback would happen. Removed the new cable and plug in my old OEM cable and I get no feedback (odd)... Will be taking this cable back.

Poor, addresses not found, bad screen layout, no f
on October 12, 2014

I have been using Tom Tom GPS's for many, many years. I recently left my VIA 1500 in a rental car. Went with the purchase of the GO 50S for my replacement. I was really looking forward to the new layout and 3D mapping. But this devices is the worst TomTom product I have ever owned (even compared to cheaper older models). The screen navigation for settings and searching for POI's or addresses is horrible and very touchy which makes it a larger challenge that it should be to navigate the menus. The traffic updates are only via your own smartphone and not like previous FM transmitters. I wasted an entire day forcing myself to use the device, I really wanted to like it. But after having the device not find three specific address that the VIA had found without issues… I decided TomTom is going in a direction with new models which I do not care for especially if it cannot find address or POI’s previous models already had. I took the device back for a refund and will now decide if I want to buy an older model online or change to a competitor. I was previously extremely loyal to the TomTom brand but this new OS layout and poor mapping may be what pushes me away. If you like the older model layouts don't get the new GO's and if you do buy one, put all expectations aside: you've been warned...

POI / Addresses "Near Me / Correct City"
October 14, 2014
The device was set to the correct city I was not using the near me option. The mapping that TomTom is doing themselves now has issues. The device was not finding POI’s or physical addresses which have been around for years. There is really no reason for this, and it certainly was not lack of understanding the interface or how to search. I have made another purchase from Garmin and it works without issues. Maybe later on TomTom will have worked out all the bugs of this new interface and I will give them another try, but not for now.

2.0.13.13 / Update
August 16, 2016
2.0.13.13 is the most current firmware from Vizio and it was to enable HDR10 https://support.vizio.com/s/article/Firmware-Information-244
Today to be on the safe side I took the 1S back and got new one, MS was suggesting to replace it so I just took it back to the store. New console and even from a different lot number-stil have the same issue. Something is up and both companies seem to have zero suggestions / next steps. Makes me wonder how many others may have the issue but be unaware because they just don't have HDR support enabled.
