This is a polarizing film, not as much as Boyhood, where you either love it, like it, or hate it. I for one liked it. I enjoyed the way it was filmed as well as the plot, but I didn't really love it. It does require a few more watches to really understand some of the stuff that is happening.
Good movie, but wish it was connected to the anime

It's a good movie that has almost nothing to do with the anime. Really wish it would have continued the anime instead. Other than that, it's alright. I liked how they made a love-interest for a character which gives the fan a chance to question a "what if this were to happen?" kind of scenario. Really liked the colors, style, and animation used in this movie which, to me, gave it an almost refreshing take on Fullmetal Alchemist giving us a different take on how the anime could have looked. In the end, it was quite enjoyable.
Billionaire Oliver Queen returns from a five year stint marooned on a remote island with a mysterious agenda and recently acquired expertise as an archer. Determined to make up for his father's wrongdoings, Oliver assumes the identity of "Arrow", a vigilante archer dedicated to ending the corruption and crime that plagues the streets of Starling City.
I love how this show feels independent of the DC Universe's supernatural stuff and makes Starling City feel like its own continuity. I never would have thought there could have been a character that's is almost as cool as Batman and still have a 21st century live-action television show before him. Every episode is crucial in developing a character,a bond, or the plot in someway. If you miss one episode, you're basically left with the task of catching up before the next one comes out. The villains are just as amazing as well, especially Count Vertigo who is basically the Arrow's (or vigilante') Joker. If you're well-informed about the DC Universe, you'll definitely enjoy all the Easter eggs that pop up in every episode. However, Laurel is the one thing that drags the show in my opinion. She can get really annoying, really quick (especially in Season 2). Other than that, it's just a fun show that leaves you wanting to watch more.

I remember really looking forward to watching this movie when I saw a trailer and was really intrigued by Steve Carell's performance in an antagonistic role. After watching it, I can definitely say it was pretty good. It wasn't spectacular, but good. He did, however, feel bland at times. Also, Sam Rockwell's performance was, in my opinion, much better given the fact that his character really "fit". He really made me feel that's who he really was on a daily basis. This then transitions me to why I didn't like this movie that much. Duncan, Liam James' character, was beyond unbearable to me. I don't want to blame the kid, but Liam James just didn't live up to what his character should have been. He wasn't likable, tolerable, and, on occasion, had little to no emotion. His facial expressions were almost always the same except when he would have to give the occasional smile. Besides him, however, the movie could have been better. The water park scenes were the best throughout the movie mainly due to the performances of all the actors that played the water park staff. Overall, this movie was OK.

I thought the movie was a lot of fun. To me, it's the kind of movie that you can just sit down and watch if it's on TV and not care if you've missed the beginning. I remember really enjoying the movie when I first watched it. I ended up buying it on DVD and watching it over and over again. The reason why I chose the characters as great and not so great is because it can be a love/hate relationship with them. You either really like the characters or you hate them. I personally really enjoyed all the characters and the performances, but I can see why some would get annoyed with them as well. Overall, I really did like this movie.

I was hesitant when it first came out in theaters. I knew from the commercials that I was not going to like the two main characters. And unfortunately, my suspicions were correct. Their chemistry and acting was pretty bad. Other than those two, the plot was the only other negative. It seemed to generic of a plot that has been told before. It was too predictable. But let's face it, when deciding on whether to watch this movie or not is solely based on the amazing Kaiju and Jaeger battles. And I must say, they were phenomenal. It's like my childhood fantasy come to life which is what really kept me going through it. Also, I felt the supporting cast was MUCH better. Idris Elba was great as always. Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Max Martini, and Robert Kazinsky were really and ended up helping the movie. Overall, I recommend the movie and if you're still hesitant, rent it first.

What's not so great: The Mako and Raleigh characters (and actors) weren't that good. Plot was average.
