Whirlpool Rocks!!!

I purchased this Fridge as a replacement of another brand purchased at Best Buy one year prior. I could not be happier with this item. It has a good amount of space for being a side-by-side and I love the solid black with texture on the sides and doors.(It shows less dust than the smooth black painted)
The cost is moderate on sale it was $999 but the value in getting a Whirlpool for that price was worth it for me. I also purchased the Best Buy warranty which was great value for the money.
I encourage everyone to look at this item if you want a true side-by-side.
What's great about it: Moderate Price, Quality of Brand
I would recommend this to a friend!

Months and months of problems...
on June 24, 2012

I purchased this Fridge at Best Buy on 06/27/11 which was delivered on 07/06/11. After having in my home one month it stopped working and flashed and error code "4" on the controls. Floods my kitchen b/c of the large capacity of Ice in the Ice maker. Hours of clean up and the tech arrives 2 days later to service unit. He states the computer went bad and needs to be replaced. Orders the part-2 days later he returns to fix it.
The fridge runs for approx 3-4 months and stops working again. I come home to a flooded kitchen and defrosted fridge. When I call Frigidaire the customer service person tells me to unplug the unit and plug back in. I do this and it starts to work. I explain to her that I want this logged in the system as an issue b/c it was just recently repaired. She states that isn't necessary b/c this happens sometimes when the power goes out. I insisted it be logged b/c of the newness of the fridge and my concerns of getting a lemon and she stated she couldn't do that since the problem was "fixed" I was very frustrated but what are you to do?
This unit seemed to work until 05/30/12 when I return home from work to yet another flooded kitchen. I immediately call and have a service tech sent out. (still flashing code "4") the service tech comes and replaces a burn out start-up device. I ask if this is common he states ehhh...it can be....I share my concerns with this being a lemon and he states "Good Luck dealing with Frigidaire to buy it back" He leaves and the fridge is working.
On 06/18/12 I arrive home to a Flooded kitchen, dining room, living room, and back my hallways almost to my bedrooms (I live in a condo all one level) I check the Fridge and no error codes but doesn't seem to be cool...I start the clean up process and call a plumber to my home. He searches for hours to no avail and states there are no water leaks anywhere... shortly after he leaves I'm still cleaning up water and the Fridge is flashing a code "4" I call customer care for Frigidaire and they state that they will HAVE to send a service tech. I review all the problems I've had and explained I would like this replaced.
NO HELP...I called Best Buy and they stated if Frigidaire tells them to return the unit they will...but Frigidaire is going to order more parts and try to fix it again.
I would NEVER recommend a Frigidaire product to anyone and the money that you may save by buying this unit will be quickly taken away in throwing food away month after month when it breaks and it spoils.
I cannot believe the way this has been handled and I would encourage anyone to not purchase this Frigidaire and look into a better quality brand.
What's not so great: Quality...Lack of concern by Frigidaire
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
