Added these to compliment the Kenwood component speakers (KFC-P71) for our 2010 Wranger JK Unlimited. Added these to the soundbar above our heads. The one thing about Jeeps is they can get pretty noisy when driving, especially on the highway so when the outside volume goes up, so does the volume on the radio. The factory paper cones these replaced would start getting muddy when it hit over a certain volume basically replacing quantity over quality. With the Kenwood 6.5" 3-way sets, you get both. The mid- and low-ends don't have the same falloff as the factory systems and the independent tweeter keeps the high's crisp.
The Jeep's soundbar has a proprietary mount which required some modification of the factory speakers to mount the new set. These speakers came with enough hardware that made this a relatively easy switch.
Separate your woofer from your tweeter with this Kenwood component speaker, and play your music the way it was meant to be played. The 63-24,000 Hz frequency response lets you hear all of the highs and the lows. Everything needed for quick installation in your vehicle is included with this Kenwood component speaker.Geek Squad® Installation RecommendedVisit your local Best Buy store for more information.

Used these to replace the existing factory speakers in the dash in my 2010 Wrangler JK Unlimited. The woofers came with an adapter ring that fit in the removable speaker boxes easily. The tweeter required a little modification as the factory holes in the on-the-dash towers were slightly smaller than the tweeter enclosure. There's also a mounting screw on the back of each tweeter with a wingnut. I had to drill a small hole behind the tweeter tower and secured with the wingnut. The towers are positioned on the dash to where the backs are not easily seen so the wingnuts aren't a problem.
We kept the same radio/head unit and the sound quality was a major improvement over the factory paper cones. These can reach much higher volumes without loss of quality and being able to position the tweeter direction is a nice added benefit.
