A real steal for Black Friday price of 599. Very clear HD content and its a Smart tv. On the down side, Samsung could include a few more picture modes. Very satisfied with purchase at this price point.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better than Sony
By HumBug
Returned and exchanged the heavily panned Sony X900C with this one (65 inch). Downside is that its not 3D, and the colors aren't as sharp as Sony's, even though the Sony I returned was last year's version. You will need a sound bar for sure. I have had sporadic issues with web os 3.0 not launching certain apps (especially amazon). However, there are no light bleed issues, which is a relief. It's a good looking TV overall.

No 3D - Definitely a Deal Breaker!
March 21, 2016
No 3D???? I was just about to pull the trigger and buy this TV but definitely not now. I own too many 3D movies to give them up. Too bad, other than that the specs look great for the cost!

Excellent TV - here's why!
By Slipman
I upgraded my six year old 42" Panasonic plasma to this 50" Vizio P Series. Let me tell you why this TV (ok I guess it's technically a monitor) is so great. First of all, the design is awesome. It features a very thin bezel which is a bit lighter than a black (dark gray). I actually find that I prefer the lighter shade because the wall behind the monitor is lighter colored so when the room is dim/dark the bezel seems to fade away. With a darker wall behind it you might notice the bezel more. Next, the spacing with the legs on the ends. I thought I might not like this design choice, however, when you set it up and have nothing in front of, or under the monitor, it looks like it is floating more than a tv with the stand in the middle (as my old plasma had). I've heard some complaints about sound loudness - no issues here. We live in an apartment and have no need to be cranking up the sound and the side speakers are better than the speaker that was on the back of my plasma. Here's the real reason you need this monitor: ANYTHING that you bring up in google chrome browser from a laptop or desktop on the same network can be chrome cast to the tv. The possibilities for this are endless. I was considering an OLED LG 1080P tv before this. That would have cost me at least $500 more and been not as futureproof as this monitor. I loaded up 4K youtube as soon as I got it - looks absolutely incredible - similar to the jump from 480 to 1080p. Make sure you turn motion smoothing on to keep panning shots smooth. If you have any questions feel free to respond to this review.
TL:DR
AWESOME CHROME CAST FROM ANY DEVICE 4K MONITOR

9.5/10 Premium Quality @Budget Price!

The Best Product Available on the Market!
I'll make this clear for those who are considering multiple products and completely indecisive about which offers the best bang for your buck This is an all-around complete product for those who are up to date with technology and presumably will remain up-to-date. This is basically the "ultimate display for entertainment purposes." This product does what it is supposed to do: display content that can and will please any (TV) non-videophile individual; if you're a techy then you will appreciate this product; this is not about the name of the brand or anything like that, this is simply about the product and what it offers regardless of the maker, otherwise most of you will allow yourselves to be influenced by subjective material rather than remain true and objective. Unless you can't afford to spend a few more hundred bucks on a television/display, I am confident you would not mind spending a little more to enhance the overall quality experience. If you like to stream content but you don't like the tablet and don't want to use your own device, then I strongly recommend purchasing a separate streaming device, such as Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, etc. You have options, so make the most of your display and utilize it to the maximum. I also suggest purchasing a decent, if not quality, home theater speaker system, like the Logitech Z906. I personally have used several speakers systems, both 2.1 and 5.1, and my overall favorite would be the Z906 for its performance and quality. I also recently purchased an Xbox One to attach to my new Vizio P55-C1. I have just about everything I need to have a good time for months, literally. Anyway, now I will discuss the more important elements of this product.
Currently at $1,099.99, You Will Not find a better picture for the price than on this product line and model (P-Series) even at $1,299.99, unless you spend half as much more for something that may attempt to wow the audience. This is not about the Brand name, this is about quality and price. If you are like most average consumers and look up reviews or watch youtube videos of unboxing/setups, or make purchases based off of opinions and little to no information, then I strongly suggest you prepare yourself for some research because the only way you will be confident in any purchase is if you are knowledgeable about what you are looking for and what you would like. I understand most people do not like or understand why Vizio's displays do not have apps included on the User Interface, but the purpose of that is for faster performance and better overall experience. Previous models, not limited to Vizio products, but also LG, Samsung, etc, have experienced frustrating lag time or difficulty in establishing connection to apps or the internet and sacrifice performance/speed for a feature that lacks in quality; using a third party streaming device significantly improves the experience without the cost of performance whatsoever. You can all look up more information about how apps and internet access works through the television/display itself, not using a separate device like an Xbox or Playstation, just the tv itself. You will find that most tvs that attempt to access the internet do not do a very well job of it, and so Vizio's approach provides a better overall experience for the user in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. Also, this product offers Full Array Local Dimming, with 126 zones; objectively, this prevails over any Edge-Lit or Direct-Light LED display, and it provides such exceptional colors/lighting/vibrancy/etc that it competes with OLED displays. Some brands use more features, like Quantum Dot Display, like Samsung and LG, to further enhance the picture quality; Vizio's models do not have that feature, and regardless, still offer a formidable challenge for other brands to approach. Basically, even though Vizio lacks a feature that other displays offer, it's picture is still noteworthy and comparable to others, because if Vizio also utilized Quantum Dot Display, then the picture quality would be much greater than its competitors and highly likely OLED as well. I would like to point out that yes, this display offers an IPS panel, however it is not as awful as most consumers believe, and it offers true 120hz refresh rate; this is also a true 10-bit panel, which means more colors, better depth perception-picture quality. The difference is not as significant as most reviewers make it out to be, in fact, the static contrast ratio is about 1500:1 (according to 4k's review) and LG displays have been demonstrating contrast ratios of about 1,100:1 on their IPS panels, so if anything, this should make sense to you that the picture quality-static contrast ratio on this model is better than on most of the LG displays you have seen. Unless you specifically want a VA panel, then you are looking to find a contrast ration within the typical range of 3,000-5,000. I would also like to note that Vizio's P-Series VA panels offer an impressively average contrast ratio of about 5,600:1. So if you compare the IPS and VA panels you are likely to see a difference up close, and maybe from a close distance, but not as distinguishable when sitting at about 5 feet or so away from the display at home regardless of light settings. The difference just isn't big enough to make an impact on your vision perception or worth paying a few hundred dollars more difference when you can utilize that for something more constructive, like family needs, or more personal items. Treat yourself, save some money and use the extra bank to purchase other products that will better enhance your home theater experience.
If you would like to learn more about why this product is the way it is, I suggest reading some reviews, such from Cnet, Rtings, 4k, digitaltrends, consumerreports, androidpolice, etc. You can also look up Avs forum for more information. The information is out there, you just have to spend the time finding it; don't limit yourself or your knowledge to mere opinions and reviews; you should remain objective, don't concentrate on the subjective, and truly consider quality, features, performance, technical specifications, etc. This product is the best, if not one of the best products available on the market today. If you're looking to purchase an addition for your home theater, then I strongly recommend trying this product out for a couple weeks. And I mean fully utilize the dual High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility *it supports both formats HDR 9/10(update soon) & Dolby Vision*, Ultra Color Spectrum-Wide Color Gamut, gaming capabilities with extremely low latency, overall features available and ready for exploration.
I strongly recommend taking a further look at the wonderful technical specifications this display offers.

I would also like to note that I will do my best to answer and reply to the best of my abilities within 72 hours if anyone posts a response to my post. So if you have any questions, concerns, or comments, I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am aware I did not cover everything about this product, I just gave an overall essential breakdown of what most people would like to know. So any further inquiries and I can go more into details of my experience with this display and its functionality, such as gaming, movies/sports, photos, etc. I do not know all the information there is to this product, but I will do my best to find the answer or direct you to a source that can provide that answer should I not be able to answer you myself. I hope this review has provided a generally in-depth account of what to contemplate for your purchasing potential and possibilities. Remember, it's not about the name of the brand, it's what the product has to offer, and this is by far, currently, the best product available on the market, if not one of the best!

Great black levels
By Fatsie123 from NY
The black levels on this display are incredible and almost OLED-like for a reasonable price. I paid 799.99 on Memorial Day weekend and do not regret buying this display in the very least. This tablet remote isn't as bothersome for me as it apparently is for others. Colors are fine, Marco Polo in Dolby Vision on Netflix looks great and the colors pop. Non-HD sources look sub-par, but its not like I paid 799.99 expecting the upscaling capability to be on the same level as a high end television. Looking forward to the HDR 10 update. I say, wait until its on sale for 799.00 again and definitely pick one up! If my pics look bad its because of my cellphone's camera - not the Vizio P 201.

Forgot to mention in my above review...

Oh, I neglected to mention that this display has a 60hz refresh rate, not the 120hz refresh rate as advertised - this is why I only gave it 4 stars.

Perhaps you should return tv for a replacement

That doesnt sound good for a TV that you just paid thousands of dollars for. Just a suggestion but perhaps you should return tv for a replacement before your return period expires.

Connect to the Web with this Samsung BD-H6500/ZA Blu-ray player. To build a complete 3D home theater system, we recommend you purchase a 3D TV, 3D glasses designed for the TV, high-speed HDMI cable and an A/V receiver that is compatible with 3D products.

Does this unit have lights in the front? ex. power on, time lapsed on disc.

Sorry about previous response - yes it has a small barely noticeable green power on light on the right side.
