Too Long Away is the one of the greatest mix of traditional and contemporary Scottish folk music to be found. Emily's beautifully accented voice complements the amazing symphony of fiddles and harps and pianos to create music to rival even Dougie Maclean.
What's great about it: Great musician with beautiful scottish singing accent
If One Cell in the Sea is good, then Bomb in a Birdcage is amazing. All of Alison Sudol's songwriting brilliance from the previous album returns with additional experience and creativity.
The digipak doesn't contain lyrics, but that loss is comparable to running over an anthill while mowing your yard: it's hardly noticeable amidst the awesomeness of enjoying the music . . . or the freshly cut lawn.
Listen. Purchase. Recommend.
What's great about it: Beautiful music
What's not so great: No written lyrics (whup dee doo)
After first hearing A Fine Frenzy on Pandora, I was mesmerized by the grace and beauty that Alison Sudol captures in One Cell in the Sea. Her skill in writing music and her creativity as a lyricist have created beautiful music fit for falling asleep to, enjoying a nice day in the park, or simply enjoying on a normal day.
My only disappointment has been a single typo in one of the songs when initially burning it to my computer, but that's the only flaw, and it's easier to fix than it is to blow your nose.
The cover art also isn't the same as it is shown on Best Buy's website, but it is the official album art.
A good thank you is in order to Best Buy for letting me order this fantastic record for no more than $10. Kudos also for quicker than expected delivery.
What's great about it: Good deal on beautiful music
What's not so great: A single, easy to fix typo on a song title
