Great features but dark scene performance kills it

I purchased a 75" because I wanted to upgrade when my 70" panel failed. The bright scene performance is amazing, even on 1080p blu rays. But because of the IPS edge lit panel when it is a dark scene the bad contrast ratio really shows. Lots of grey and it's very dull and washed out. I had read that this TV was slightly better in all ways than my LG 70LB7100. But to be honest with you, I think the 3D in this set is actually not as good as my old 1080p LG. And I think the blacks were even just a tad bit better on the older TV. When I say 3D it just feels as if the 3D does not pop out as impressively as the old set. There is no crosstalk. I ended up sacrificing screen size and went with the 65" OLED because black level performance on this set is horrid.

This IS really Nintendo at it's best.

I was really looking forward to this game. For one, I love Yoshi games. And for 2, the yarn theme looked really awesomely artistic. Let me tell you I love playing WiiU games ONLY on the game pad. In other words I don't even use the TV. I think the games look really great on that small tablet screen. And this game does not disappoint.
Not only are the graphics beautiful and art style cute. But the game play is pure Yoshi fun. The fact that it looks like you are walking around on actual yarn, with little yarn balls besides you instead of eggs. Is just really enthralling. I love this whole "themed" games Nintendo has been doing lately and I think you'll love this game. The game is easy, but actually taking time to explore and find all of the fun hidden extras as where the real time can be spent. And the world happens to be beautiful so why wouldn't you want to explore every last corner.

I did not calibrate but I did fiddle with the settings many times and set them to where I like the settings. And it just did not perform well. Some people might be able to get it within acceptable limits. But it all comes down to this TV has a contrast ratio only slightly better than 1000 to 1. Whereas an OLED has much higher than even 5000 to 1 because the blacks are complete absolute black.
