Awesome album, maybe Zombie's best

I'm surprised there isn't a review up for this album yet.
Astro Creep 2000 is one of my favorite CDs, and in my opinion, one of the best hard rock/metal albums of the 1990s. Every aspect of this record, from the audio production to the artwork in the booklet, screams of the style that Rob Zombie continues to put forth in his solo records and even in his movies. I'm a fan of his and I immediately dug White Zombie the first time I heard them. I'm pretty sure I first saw the video for "More Human Than Human" (track 8 on this CD) on MTV back in '95 or '96 and thought, "this is a little strange, but pretty cool." From there I became a fan.
This is one of those beginning-to-end albums where you just shouldn't skip any song. This album flows. It opens with a sample of a train riding on tracks repeating over and over. This leads into Electric Head (Pt. 1), which is a great heavy opener. The next track is the classic "Super Charger Heaven," a great thrashy number that still gets some radio play. From there every song grooves. The closer "Blood Milk and Sky" is a slow, haunting song but it loses absolutely no heaviness.
Simply put, get this album. If you like Rob Zombie and haven't checked out White Zombie, you owe it to yourself to check out this CD and 1992's La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 1 which includes "Thunder Kiss '65."
What's great about it: Every song's a keeper, great production
What's not so great: White Zombie's last proper record

Excellent game, highly recommended

It took a little while for me to get into Bioshock when I first started playing it. The gameplay felt a little slow and muddled at first. It just didn't 'feel' right. But I gave it a chance, and I'm glad I did.
Bioshock is was one of the all-around best games to be released so far for the current generation of video games. It has a story that immediately grabs you and stays interesting for the entire time you play it. Another high point of Bioshock is the art direction; it is next-to-perfect. The underwater city of Rapture is so cool, I'm a little sad I can't go there myself.
The whole concept of how Rapture works has been planned and laid out very well, and it is incorporated into the core gameplay amazingly well.
Your survival to the later stages of the game depends on your ability to acquire ADAM, the "genetic currency" of Rapture. The only way to get ADAM is to find Little Sisters, small girls with large syringes who wander around looking to extract ADAM from corpses. Each Little Sister is protected, however, by a Big Daddy, one of whom is pictured on the game box. You have to kill the Big Daddy to get to the Little Sister, and they do not go down without a fight. Once you get ADAM, you use it to purchase genetic upgrades (called plasmids) for yourself, which you will need to progress through the game.
The characters, items, weapons, and the entire package of Bioshock make it a truly great game. Anyone into first-person shooters, action/adventure, and horror owes it to themselves to at least try it.
What's great about it: Great & engrossing story, awesome graphics, very good control & gameplay
What's not so great: Not many, only a few small nitpicks

Fun, but not for everyone

If you're not a fan of Aerosmith, this new version of Guitar Hero might not be for you. Sure it plays exactly like the huge hit Guitar Hero 3, but like last year's Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s, it has a very narrow focus in terms of its track list.
There are 41 songs on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. 31 of those are Aerosmith songs (with a few being Joe Perry solo songs). That means 10 are from other artists, such as Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, The Clash, Stone Temple Pilots, and others. A few of those songs have even been used already in Rock Band (The Clash and STP songs are downloadable), and they were first with "Train Kept a Rollin'," though it's a cover version in Rock Band and the master track is used here.
In the end, it comes down to whether you're a big fan of Aerosmith, or that it's simply a new Guitar Hero and you need to get it (I'm guilty of that one). There's no downloadable content for GH: Aerosmith, so what you get on the disc is what you get for good. An upside is that the achievements for the XBox 360 version are much easier to get than most of GH3's very difficult ones. It's not a must-buy, but it's still a pretty fun game.
What's great about it: As always, fun Guitar Hero gameplay
What's not so great: If you don't like Aerosmith that much, you probably won't like this

There was a magical time in music known as the 1980s. It was an era when big hair, tight clothes, new attitudes and killer tracks set the world on fire. Now you have the chance to revisit these legendary days and become an 80's rock superstar just like the greats of the past. Your spandex is tight, your hair is sprayed right — rip off killer licks and jam with all of your might.Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s is loaded with amazing songs from the 1980s that appeal to head-bangers, new-wave rockers and anyone else who loves those wild tunes. Play as your favorite Guitar Hero characters and dress them in outrageous outfits of the past. The co-op multiplayer capabilities allow two players to jam together, with one person on lead and the other on rhythm guitar. If you need to master a particular song or phrase, turn to the Practice mode and even slow down a difficult section until you learn it perfectly. Are you really an 80's bad boy — or bad girl — at heart? Then it's time to hit the stage and take your place in the pantheon of rock legends.

Good, but somewhat disappointing

Any Guitar Hero fan will be ecstatic at the release of a new game in the series (myself included), but I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed with Rocks the 80s. There are 30 main songs, that's it. Most hardcore GH players will probably beat the game the first day they get it (at least on one difficulty level). Being a full-priced game that's this short and released this far into the PS2's cycle is pretty frustrating.
There are some very fun songs (I Ran, Los Angeles, Only A Lad), but there are also some painfully boring ones, and some of the worst choices in any GH game to date (Heat of the Moment, Balls to the Wall, etc.).
One of the biggest surprises of Rocks the 80s is the final tier of songs. The Judas Priest and Dead Kennedys songs are decent choices and relatively fun to play, but the last three songs ("Seventeen" by Winger, "Caught In a Mosh" by Anthrax, and "Play With Me" by Extreme, which is a completely puzzling choice being such a relatively obscure song) are not really fun at all.
Most any GH player will enjoy this game, even if it does leave a bit to be desired. I bought it the first day, though I don't think I'll be going back to it much.
