Much smoother than last year's Icon speakers

I had purchased a full icon set last year including the towers, center, surrounds, and 450 watt sub. Based on the front towers alone these have a much smoother, less harsh tweeter. I've always wanted a set of reference speakers but in my area of Illinois they are hard to come by. I was very pleased when best buy started carrying them. I have them hooked up to a new Yamaha 577 network reciever (I highly recommend). I have them bi-amped and paired along side the new 12 inch 400 watt sub (I'll review separate. Overall I love these speakers and would highly recommend. I only have two gripes. Last year's reference models had magnetic grills, these do not and they take a while to (fit) to.the speaker properly. The first couple of days I owned them I noticed the grill would be popping off on the top and bottom. I guess it just needed to stretch out it eventually quit and they fit fine now. My last gripe is the floor models had a gold Klipch emblem on the top of the grill signifying that you own reference speakers. Somehow both of mine escaped the factory without the emblem. I called klipsch and they said they will happily replace the grills under warranty but won't have any in till early October. I called Best Buy to make them aware the situation and they are letting me swap them out for a pair of new grills in store. I love the Fairview Heights store. Everyone there is extremely helpful. Don't waste time deciding. Buy these speakers if you've got the money!
