There is a high amount of skepticism and loud jeering when it comes to cables. Compared this to a standard bottom-priced Y cable on a soundbar. Not only was the music cleaner but the bass pumped a lot tighter. Has much to do with the fact that it uses solid conductors and not flimsy copper strands bunched together which snap like twigs. This was the right cable for me and for anyone who is connecting their phone to a speaker or an MP3 player to a speaker that doesn't have a dock. Also tested wonderfully from a computer audio out jack to speakers. In short, if you paid good money for an audio system, this cable matches the performance you expected for what you already paid to get that great sound!

The perfect hi-fi Blu-ray player

Even for my computer monitor (which has an HDMI input but is weak to reproduce decent color or detail), the Pioneer Elite 52FD is a heavyweight champ among Blu-ray players, and I have owned many. The black levels are beyond what anything else connected to the monitor can produce and the level of detail is STUNNING -- from perfectly blue costumes to golden light. Textures are smooth and easy on the eyes -- no harsh, jagged lines around people or objects. On a plasma display this Blu-ray player would rival an Oppo, but for my LED monitor, it is as close as a commercially available Blu-ray player will allow you to get to the colors on a plasma set!
The audio is amazing and I have it running to a stereo speaker configuration using AudioQuest's Cinnamon optical cable. However, even when I tested it on analog audio out to my receiver, the sound is still crisp, intelligible, and full-range. There is no obvious muffling of dialogue as some of the more generic players will produce. If you're looking for a Blu-ray player and hi-fi CD player in one device for one price, this is the player to get. It may seem pricey at first but it's the only BD player I've seen that stays cool to the touch 3 hours into use, looks beautiful hardware-wise and picture-wise, and serves as two players in one, with impeccable DVD 1080p upscaling to boot. It's a long-term investment that's well worth its price.
What's great about it: Everything upon which you can measure a Blu-ray player to your personal standards.
What's not so great: That I was stupid enough to settle for less than this player in the past thinking there was nothing better out there.
