Cheap IPS Panel with "thin" bezel
on May 15, 2013

If you want a display with good picture, you really can't go wrong with a LCD that features a IPS panel. Because of the superior viewable angle, the picture quality doesn't change depending on your position relative to the display. With adjustments, this monitor is perfect.
The thin bezel is a little misleading though. There is a black border in the matte display section of the display. So although the plastic lip of a bezel is tiny, it's not completely accurate of the actual border.
My Best Buy number: 2624918235
What's great about it: Price, IPS
What's not so great: Color is a little too warm, no height adjustment, no VESA

It's a Star Trek MMO!

It's a science fiction massively multiplayer online role playing game with space ships that isn't Star Wars Galaxies. There's a lot of fun to be had here if you enjoy Star Trek. Like many MMO games, it's lacking some direction and content so soon after launch. Hopefully time will allow the developers to flesh this one out.
It's a highly instanced game that involves you controlling your starship in space and an away team on the ground.
What's great about it: It's Star Trek
What's not so great: The game is too easy

HP 20" W2071D LED HD Monitor: This slim monitor is great for checking e-mail, browsing your favorite websites and checking Facebook and Twitter. It also works well as a second screen so you can get more work — or fun — done. Plus, you can free up desk space by mounting it on a wall.

Is whitewashed picture normal?

I bought the HP W2071D monitor last nite. It works good but I notice I can go over 45 deg from center to left, right or down and all that happens is the picture gets a little darker. But if I go as little as 20 deg up the picture is whitewashed. Is this normal or is there a problem. Tried looking on HPs site but even tho it says this monitor was built in March 2013, they don't even list it.
Based on the information at HP's website: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c03361036&lang=en&cc=us&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=3884696&prodTypeId=382087

That display features a TN panel type. The main side affect of it using a TN panel (besides lower prices) is a narrow viewable angle. If you want better picture quality and viewable angles, I recommend purchasing a display that utilizes a IPS panel.

You'll probably pay a little more for a IPS panel, but it's worth the money.

Can I fix a broken port where the adapter plugs into my laptop?

SOmehow, my conputer fell and the point where the power adapter plugs into the laptop broke. No w I am unable to charge my laptop. Is a dead computer now or can it be repaired?
If repaired by the factory or a manufacturer authorized repair facility, this can be a very pricey repair running between $100 to $300. If the repair is done by a small shop with a good technician it can probably be repaired for just an hour's worth of labor cost. The difference here is between replacing the part (expensive) vs. repair.
