Overrated cd. A couple of very good tunes drags this up to a 3. For the price, a good buy especially for a Supertramp fan. However, Breakfast in America it ain't.
They had some good stuff before this but this time they did set a new world record. It's great & for me, it ties with Discovery as their best. The intro to Telephone Line was brilliantly done. Do Ya is a great rocker. How the fools left it off their greatest hits is beyond me. More good tunes as well. Great cd, get it.
This ties with their cd a New World Record for best in my eyes. My wife likes this one even more. The beginning of the tune Need Her Love is beautifully subtle, simple & relaxing. Great song. The inverse of this tune is another great song, Don't Bring Me Down. Every song is solid, most are better & some are great & the flow is outstanding. It's great, buy it.
I really underestimated this movie. I was not inclined to rent it, but I'm glad I did. The acting was superb; Hanks definitely gave an Oscar worthy performance, and the pirate captain was very convincing in his mixed emotions as things didn't go as planned. The script was riveting, leaving me at the edge of my seat the entire time.
Apparently, some of those who gave the movie only one star due to their perception of a ridiculous premise -- an unarmed crew with the captain shooting flares at the pirates -- don't realize the movie was based on actual events, that this was how the captain tried to defend his ship.
I also liked the fact that the piracy of an impoverished nation stemmed largely from the fact that fishing conglomerates had wiped out the fishing industry of Somalia, an important reminder of the damage our industries often impose on the economies of other countries.
Would I recommend this movie? Absolutely, a truly worthy movie in terms of thought provoking as well as edge-of-your seat excitement in my opinion.

Thanks, now I know to avoid it due to leftist propaganda. Not surprising with Hanks in it. It has been awhile since he's made anything that didn't reek of liberalism. I know, that is much of what comes out of Hollywood but his have all been like that for the 15 to 20 years.
