I first bought a 3-pack of Luma at Best Buy. It was pathetic. Poor performance, connection, coverage etc. After a week I returned them to my local best buy in Houston. I purchased the eero direct and had zero issues setting up. The speeds are consistent and coverage is great. I did have to purchase a 4th, but my house is around 4000 sq ft and eero only covers around 1000 sq ft per unit. My review of Luma is on the best buy website. It is at the bottom. It WAS the only review, but Luma quickly dispatched their review/internet reputation management as seen by the 5 star/generic reviews posted ahead of mine. Luma may eventually get their issues resolved, but in the meantime buy an eero!
Provide a strong Wi-Fi signal in every room and forget about buffering and dead zones with this Luma surround Wi-Fi system. The devices adapt to your home and automatically fine-tune their signal in real time to always offer peak performance and speed. A mobile app lets you set parental controls and pause access to the Internet during family time, and sharing your WiFi with visitors is simple, too-- no more remembering complex passwords, one tap and they’re good to go with Luma’s surround WiFi system.

Purchased 7/7. Downloaded app and went thru setup. It was fairly simple and showed that I had successfully setup. The Luma app showed a 108mbps download speed. 2 Lumas upstairs and 1 down. However, I walked around house with iPhone using a speed test app. The actual speed was anywhere from 8-40 Mbps. The only place 100 Mbps was achieved was 1 foot from luma hooked to cable modem. 10 ft away in same room was closer to 30. Came home today downstairs unit was disconnected. It won't reconnect. My iPhone constantly drops or won't connect. My apple airport that was replaced had better coverage and was more consistent. I have reached out to luma and update reviews if problems resolved. Otherwise I'll return immediately and give Eero a try. This product is not as advertised and isn't ready for consumer.

It has been released. Luma is shipping 5% production to best buy the rest to preorders. I live in Houston. I purchased at the Woodlands Store.

There is an ethernet in and out on the back of all the routers. i have the ethernet plugged into a second Luma. Then i have a cable going to my iMac. Just got home and iMac wouldn't connect to internet. I had to unplug from luma and direct connect it again. One more thing to discuss with their customer service tomorrow. At this point I'd rate zero stars if possible.

Looks like my honest negative review sparked some damage control. No we have a couple of generic fake 5 star reviews of this "awesome product"

After numerous calls to Luma support and hours of trying to get this system to work right, I've given up. I ordered direct from Eero today. I will be returning the Luma's. This is the single worst tech/electronic product I've ever purchased. While the concept is great, their customer service is polite and helpful, the product obviously needed more testing and refinement before being released. It's simply horrible.
