Infrared detector broke down within a month

Sound quality,etc are excellent and the avr performs quite well. However my receiver's infrared detector broke down at 3 weeks and has been at the service center since. The price also dropped sharply since I bought it suggesting that this model might commonly have these types of issues
My Best Buy number: 4160982640
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
