Set up a reliable wired network with this TP-LINK AV500 2-port powerline starter kit, which comes with TL-PA4010 and TL-PA4020 powerline Ethernet adapters and an RJ-45 Ethernet cable. Speeds up to 500 Mbps allow fast data transfer.

Our Tivo Roamio stopped seeing wifi, and Tivo support folks were useless. So I ran a 50' cable from the router to the living room but the wife was not happy. Since I'm way too lazy to drill and string ethernet, this solution seemed attractive, so I bot it.
The directions really suck, so since I had gone online reviewing these devices, I plugged in #1 at the router and then #2 at the Tivo, then pressed the sync button on each in that order.
Next I went into the Tivo network screen and Tivo was seeing this as ethernet. So far so good and so easy to hook up and activate. Hope it holds up and doesn't require nursing all the time as some have found. Yet others have no problems.
Just to add that each unit is at an extreme end of the house so I know they're on different breakers, and probably different lines. But seems to work AOK anyway. Whew.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Still going strong

as of this date. The occasional cutout of signal from Comcast usually happens streaming Netflix, and rarely, Amazon's video service. Been great otherwise.
