I purchased a model remote starter / security system model from an online site (in other words, not best buy) in August and had to find someone reliable to install it. Finally talked to a Best Buy sales rep who said that they should install it even if it wasn't purchased from them. This model (Viper 5706v) happened to be also carried by Best Buy so that gave me a better feeling that the install would go smoothly.
The geek squad tech I worked with was pleasant to work with and walked through the functions of the system with my wife and I and answered all our questions. Reminded us also that all work is guaranteed for life, which was a huge bonus and if any parts broke they would install whatever new part for free. It was done within the time allotted (about 3 1/2 hours) and car was not damaged or dirtied in anyway.
Only negative was the price of the extra parts needed for install. But I did expect some were needed. Next time I'll buy these on my own prior to install and see if I can get a better price.
I would definitely be going back to Best Buy for this type of install. Especially since they are all over the place and if I'm traveling, there's a good chance I can find one over a local shop.

I was looking to switch things up at our Apple home and try a Windows 8 system. Wanted a tablet/laptop combo that we could use for Office instead of going Google since my wife and I both use that for work and school. This was the perfect solution and very portable and on sale for $299. I played around with it for a couple of weeks and loved the interface and the overall performance. I was able to watch a movie through my xbox, though the picture was jittery at times. Plugging the tablet directly through hdmi shrunk the interface down to a portion of the tv screen so it was really small with lots of black bar showing. Overall, it was fast, true multi-tasking was great and I wanted to keep it. Maybe I'm used to apple products but the back of the tablet was very cheap feeling and a fingerprint magnet, so a case would be suggested, especially if you have 2 little kids like we do.
I unfortunately started having more serious issues as others have seen. On a few of occasions it just wouldn't start. It took a few button presses to get it going. Once it got going, it was fine but that scared me. The keyboard pad was unimpressive and I honestly didn't trust it to do what I wanted all the time. The kicker was when I turned it on after it had been in sleep mode, it came up with an Asus system error message that was sent to Asus and the system had to reboot. This was the final sign to return the device.
I've since ordered a MS Surface and am excited to try this but will not be going back to Asus. I think it's a great device that just needs to have better quality control. Price is low but there's probably a reason...
My Best Buy number: 0051522872
What's great about it: Easy to setup, fast processor, good price, portability, real keyboard, expandable memory, usb & hdmi ports, battery life
What's not so great: Software/hardware issues, plastic feeling, app store still lacking IMO, bad trackpad
