In 2006, Superman returned to the screen. Without any major action sequences aside from a airplane rescue, the film is actually rather dull, substituting the super for meh.
BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter like you've never seen. Just ask the judges from E3 2011, where the Irrational Games title won more than 75 editorial awards, including Game Critics Award's Best of Show.Set in 1912, players assume the role of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the flying city of Columbia on a rescue mission. His target? Elizabeth, imprisoned since childhood. During their daring escape, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond — one that lets Booker augment his own abilities with her world-altering control over the environment. Together, they fight from high-speed Sky-Lines, in the streets and houses of Columbia, on giant zeppelins and in the clouds, all while learning to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities and immersing players in a story that is not only steeped in profound thrills and surprises, but also invests its characters with what IGN called "emotional ties (that) will continue to set the bar in gaming."
The third game in the Bioshock franchise, Infinite is an absolutely gorgeous game. You'll spend as much time admiring the environments as you do defeating enemies.

Perhaps one of my all time favorite video game reboots, Tomb Raider brings Lara Croft to the 2010s with this very violent, very dark, very exhilarating title that is often breathtaking and exciting.

What's great about it: Script, Voice Acting, Action Set Pieces, Atmosphere
While the original Total Recall was campy sci-fi set on Mars with Arnold, this remake takes a more serious bent with heavy amounts of admittedly wonky science fiction and PG-13 carnage. The film looks great and the production design looks great, but it probably won't stand out to fans of the original film.

What's great about it: Special Effects, Kate Beckinsale
A dream team of characters from the Fast and Furious series as well as the Rock make this rollicking, action-packed fourth sequel the best in the series and something more akin to The Italian Job 2.

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and their friends are all together in this fighting game from the creators of Mortal Kombat. The game doesn't really make too much sense at times and seems to go this way and that, but the game is very entertaining.

What's great about it: roster of characters
What's not so great: the story is all over the place
It was bound to happen. Rises isn't quite as good as one would hope compared to 2008's The Dark Knight, but Christopher Nolan's "final" film in the Dark Knight trilogy still packs a lot of material in 160 minutes. Bane is no Joker, but he packs his own sinister feel and Anne Hathaway makes for a good Catwoman.
In this reboot of the Spider-man trilogy, Peter Parker finds himself once more becoming Spider-man. This time however, he has to deal with the Lizard. As a reboot, the film is quite solid and features plenty of action and the special effects are great, but it can tend to get a little hokey at times.

Serving as a sequel to The Amazing Spider-man, this open world game has Spider-man dealing with giant robots as well as mutated animals and later a potential epidemic. While the game is mildly fun, it can be quite dull at times and some of the missions feel like a chore.

What's great about it: Some of the boss battles can be quite exciting
What's not so great: Some of the missions are redundant
An icon of the 80s, Jason returns with the help of Platinum Dunes in this sequel disguised as a loose reboot. While the kills may not be as plentiful in the film like some of the others in the series, they are well done and the film's first 10 minutes are pretty darn good.
