I bought this today and it has nice sound. Anything was an improvement over the speakers in the TV. Watching a movie, I jumped when the sound suddenly increased at one point in the movie. It took a while to figure out since I bought it as an open box item and it did not have a manual. Luckily I found the manual online. Once I got it set up it was great. Not the best, but not the worst either.

I got the tab 4 the day after it was released. After playing with it a couple days, here is my impression.
The screen is clear but still has 1200x800 resolution so it is not the best, but not the worst either. It is clear enough to watch movies and still get a decent viewing angle and picture.
It has a quad core processor that makes it quick to load web pages and open apps quickly. It also has multiwindow which is helpful when you want to watch a movie but also have a chat on FB. This tab also allows multiple user accounts and offers a kid's account too. This makes it economical for families because now you only need 1 tablet and each person can customize the tablet to his or her tastes. The kid mode allows parents to prevent access to inappropriate websites and apps, and also from kids making in app purchases without parental consent.
Like most Android tablets, you can expand the memory using a micro SD card up to 64 gb, leaving plenty of space to store movies, music, apps, etc.
Android 4.4 KItKat took some getting used to and Samsung got rid of the menu button and replaced it with a "Recent task" button instead. I find this annoying because now I have to try and navigate around apps to find the menu, whereas before I could just hit the menu button and would easily access what I needed.
The Galaxy tab 4 8.0 is a good midlevel tablet, but if you really want great resolution on the screen, then you will need to upgrade to the Tab Pro 8.4. That has much better resolution. But if you are looking for a good entertainment venue then this is perfect. Bigger than the 7 inch version and smaller than the 10.1, it is easy to hold and won't require a stand to prop it up.

I use this for watching movies on my tablet. I feel like I have a mini home theater system. It paired easily with my tablet and battery lasts a long time. Worth the money. Sound gives a rich deep bass. You can hear the difference between cheaper speakers and this.

Perfect tablet for my needs

This tablet is the perfect size and pairs well with my Galaxy note 2 phone. I like to write and this lets me write without needing paper. The screen is bright and watching movies is a nice experience. The speakers are nice and loud. The 8 inch screen is the perfect size not too heavy or too small. I have had a lot of tablets and this is the best one yet.

I have had this model only a few days and it is the main tv for me because I live in a very small apartment and space is limited. It suits my needs perfectly. The screen is so clear that when I was setting up channels, a football game was on and could see little blades of grass flying around as a player was tackled and I could see beads of sweat on some of the players' faces. Watching movies with a lot of visual character like Avatar is so clear. Technology improvements in just over a year have changed greatly. I wish I could afford and had space for a larger screen tv, but that will come later. I would buy any Samsung product.

I love this tablet. The screen is vibrant and connects quickly. Samsung got rid of the proprietary cable and now uses a more universal cable. Watching Netflix is great and I like the fact I can use either a bluetooth or usb run keyboad. It's battery life is ok. I sold my iPad mini for this tablet. It has a better screen and more flexibility for downloading apps. I'm almost exclusively Samsung now: HDTV, tablet, and phone.I have never been disappointed in Samsung products.
What's great about it: nice viewing
What's not so great: lack of accessories

The incredibly small, wearable music player has a clickable control pad. And VoiceOver tells you the song title or playlist name.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 VS. Microsoft Surface
I'm currently a college student and I need to take notes in class, write essays, etc. so which one would be best to buy because i need programs such as word, powerpoint... does the Tab 3 have these programs?
No. It does have Polaris Office which is Compatible with word and other Microsoft Office programs. The Surface might be better if you are going to do a lot of typing, etc. The Tab 3 is more for entertainment. The Note 8 might be a better choice if house want the freedom to write free hand.

does this come preloaded with google play credit and a years subscription to hulu?
As I have been shopping around, I see these things listed. Are all Samsung galaxy tabs pre-loaded with these things, or only ones sold at certain places?
When you register your tablet at Samsung's website from your tablet, you will receive an email with links to redeem the credits. It was worth it. But it is only 3 months for Hulu.

is there any tablets that are connected to t-mobile carriers i have t-mobile
The T-Mobile store should sell tablets that are compatible with their network. Not sure if it is available for the Galaxy Tab 3. Maybe for the Note 8.0.

Can u transfer the music from ur IPad to it?
I have a iPod and a IPhone can I trans fer the music I have on them to this tablet
If music is not purchased from iTunes you might be able to.
