Great Receiver

My Sony DA-5ES receiver died after 15 years of faithful service so I needed to buy a new one and decided this time I wasn't going to spend an arm and a leg. Looking at BestBuy.com and reading reviews I decided to do this on the cheap and bought this receiver since it was under 200 bucks. I was blown away by this receiver! The sound quality is clean and sharp. Music sounded great and using the multi channel option gives me the surround sound effect I always wanted for my music.
HDMI Arc feature works perfectly with my Vizio monitor and doesn't affect the image quality. The onscreen menu is primitive and you have to dig a bit to adjust sound levels for the individual speakers by going through the Home menu but you need to make the adjustments because, at least for me, the other way didn't give me the sound I wanted. My two previous Sony receivers were very flaky when it comes to playing digital sources, there was always a initial delay when first playing anything and my subwoofer would always fade in and out no matter how I set things but this one has shown no problems for either one.All in all this a great receiver and I'm very happy I decided to purchase it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice for the Price!

I picked one of these up on Black Friday. Great price for a 49 inch of any make let alone an LG. So now that I've had it for a month I think I can give an informed opinion. First off, it's a nicely constructed TV. Does not look or feel cheap. The picture quality is top notch. And if you like tweaking the picture settings, you'll love this TV! And you do need to do make some adjustments. Out of the box the picture is too bright and the color and contrast are weak. Once you fine tune things, the picture is excellent. So that part of the TV is great!
Output options are very limited for a TV this size. 2 HDMI inputs, 1 component/composite and a cable input....that's it. And only a toslink digital output.
As others have noticed, sound quality is not very good on this TV. You have to turn it up almost full blast to get a decent sound level. If you have a sound bar or are hooking it up to a receiver, this may not be a problem.
My only problem with this TV is that it doesn't output a Dolby digital signal through it's digital output when using an HDMI component, only Dolby Pro Logic....which makes no sense. And this is the only TV I have where there is nowhere in the settings to make changes to the output signal. I know it can output a digital audio signal because it does when using an antenna. So not exactly a deal breaker but it's something that bothers me.
A very nice TV with great picture quality and so so audio capability.
I would recommend this to a friend!

will this unit play music (in the usb port) from a flash drive ?
Yes. And it sounds great!
