An entirely new Play 5

I own all of the Sonos products and have always enjoyed the old Play 5. Sonos decided to build a new Play 5, so time to try it.
The packaging of the new Play 5 is outstanding. Feels like an Apple product when you open it. Very nice touches all around. Then again, the new unit is $100 more than the old one.
The new Play 5 is a little shorter than the old unit but much deeper. The look is cleaner and it can be placed like the old one or on its side. A nice touch if you buy a pair.
Connecting it is the same as the other Sonos units. I did not try the new TruePlay feature since Sonos does not support it on the iPad Pro yet.
Sonically it is very good. One tip is to let it break in for a while. Out of the box it sounds a little flat and laid back compared to the old Play 5. Give it a little time and it comes to life. Bass is deeper and richer with better overall separation. It's amazing how much sound Sonos gets out of this speaker.
Outstanding product by Sonos again. Fun to listen to and worth the $100 price increase.

Awesome viewing experience

What a great experience to own this TV. When we bought it we thought it would be too big. We were wrong, it just makes everything more fun to watch. Picture quality is very good considering the size. Note the I do not use the internal speakers or internet features.
Only challenge is changing the settings to remove trailing during sports and other things that move quickly. The default settings will have some trailing effects where a baseball doesn't move smoothly. Setting changes do fix that.
Recommended TV.

What's great about it: Size (obviously), uniform picture quality, value
What's not so great: Requires settings changes for sports

Paired this up with the Definitive BP-7006 speakers. Looking at this center channel I thought it was too small to work. Plugged it in and I was shocked at the sound it kicks out. It is an excellent sonic match for the BP-7006.
Vocals are smooth with decent imaging. Excellent value and recommended.
What's great about it: Sound quality, price

Superb speakers for home theatre

I've owned numerous speakers over the years from Vandersteen to B&W to Paradigm. Paradigm was the first speaker I tried with a built-in sub.
I tried these speakers because I wanted something smaller and also wanted to eliminate my large sub. I was concerned these were too inexpensive for my tastes, but loved the form factor.
Once I hooked them up (to my Denon 28xx receiver) I was shocked. They sounded fantastic and the imaging was very cool. The entire room felt more open. The built-in subs were great for my needs.
If you are a hard-rocker, high volume listener, I would recommend something different. But for typical home theatre and music listening, these are an excellent buy and sound superb.
Only thing I didn't like was the gloss finish. It chips pretty easily.
What's great about it: Size, sound quality, built-in sub
What's not so great: Glossy finish

What does the speed of the hard drive do?

im thinging of getting hp dv6t and upgrading memory to 3gb memory and hard drive to 320 gb at 7200 rpm but i would have to order off of the hp website

but i could get the same laptop at bestbuy for 30 more but now it has 4gb memory and 500 gb hard drive at 5400

1. will the speed of the hard drive matter?
2. which would you do?
The extra drive RPMs speed up access to data on the drive. 5400 RPM drives re the la-top standard, but are pretty slow. The 7200 will be noticeable. Memory is very inexpensive aftermarket if you ever want to upgrade from 3GB.

What do i need to consider with 64bit vs 32 bit (Vista)?

What do I need to consider in buying 64bit? Compatibility issues? MS Office 2007 ok? Printers? How do I know what is compatible? What is the advantage of 64bit?
Office 2007 is fine with Vista 64 bit. Not all printers and other items that need special software work correctly. An example are some Palm Pilots. You can check the website of your printer manufacturer to see if they offer Windows 64 bit drivers (or if the 32 bit versions will work).

64 bit allows your computer to address more memory. 32 bit Windows was restricted to around 3 GB of memory. 64 bit does not have that restriction.
