Launched in 2011, this design established the trend of paper-thin TV antennas. Universally compatible with all HDTVs, the Mohu Leaf 50 offers the benefits and powerful performance of our notorious design coupled with the Jolt Switch USB in-line amplifier to reach a 60-mile range. Control TV signal amplification in real time with a simple ON/OFF switch. When it’s "on", TV signals are increased for clearer picture and sound, sometimes receiving channels beyond your antenna’s standard range. When it’s "off", amplification is bypassed while TV signals are still filtered from FM and cellular interference. When plugged into your TV’s USB port, the amplifier only draws power when the TV is on, saving energy, or use the included USB power adapter with any standard wall outlet. Perfect for suburban areas, compact living spaces, single-TV homes, dorm rooms, RVs…take this efficient antenna just about anywhere you go. Easy to set up and easy on the eyes. Multi-directional UHF and Hi-VHF elements receive TV signals from both sides, so you can show either side of the black or white reversible design or paint the Leaf antenna for a customized look. Note: The range of this antenna will vary greatly depending on the height, power, and frequency of signals coming from the TV tower, as well as the height of the antenna installation, the terrain, and obstacles between your home and the broadcast towers. Find your TV towers and channels by using our free Antenna Point app on your android or iOS device.

Easy to install

I had to go with an indoor antenna since I can’t mount anything on the outside of the building. I chose the Mohu Leaf 50 which may be overkill in my situation, but is highly rated. It looks like a heating pad -- one white side, one black side. I've mounted it white side out in an east facing window for optimal signal reception. With a relatively clean shot at the transmission towers, Mohu says I should be able to receive 46 channels, some of which I’ve never heard of. I have good signal strength and can actually receive 36 channels. Setup was quick and straight-forward. The biggest problem was determining the best location/orientation for the antenna. (An extra set of hands would have been helpful). After removing channels of no interest to me, I am still left with 15 useful ones. This includes all of the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, CW, FOX and PBS). It works for my needs.

Roku 1 rocks!

In the last month, I've bought 2 Roku 1 streaming players (I have 2 TVs). Both have worked out of the box. Roku 1 supports both composite video and HDMI and hence will support most TVs. If you have a 4K TV or other special needs, this may not be the product for you. Otherwise it simply works, and you have access to a wide universe of streaming providers.

Do I need to purchase an antenna to use this device?

No. This device requires a Wi-Fi connection to a local network with Internet access. Most ISP providers have the option for a Wi-Fi enabled router. If not, one can be purchased from many vendors. (This answer doesn't necessarily apply if you are using a satellite ISP connection. Check with your vendor.) Be careful if you have data limits imposed by your ISP; this device requires at least 5Mbps service for each connected TV for acceptable performance (i.e., it won't work over a 56 Kbps dial-up line).

Does the Roku Streaming Player or stick have ESPN1 and ESPN2

Directly, no. It only provides access to various other streaming providers (e.g., Sling, Amazon Prime et al.). There are providers that claim to provide access to ESPN1 and ESPN 2. I haven't signed up for them, so I don't know whether they provide the access you desire. However, most providers allow for free access for a period of time, so you can see if they meet your desires.
