This film was great, never have I seen a documentary that often achieves what a narrative film does, subtext, intelligence, craft, and multi-layered plot lines. There is a lot going on in this film that will likely be over many viewers heads, it's part art film, part documentary part narrative. If you want to know the definitive story behind this amazing legend, this film covers and unearths every possible detail, more investigative and exhaustively researched, this movie is the holy grail for all things paranormal and all things mothman. I have read some other reviews elsewhere that reveal the viewers missed a great deal of the points and purposes of devices used in the film. I will give one quick example: People don't understand the use of quotes at the top of each section, my theory: Every quote deals with "Eyes" the film is called "Eyes of the Mothman," which is a play on words and not to be taken in the literal sense but is a suggestion of perception, this whole legend is about perception, legend, myth, fact and history all become intertwined. This is why I love this film, it can be analyzed and interpreted like a good narrative. How many documentaries have you ever seen that are open to the viewers interpretation and not a force fed believe the director is trying to get across???THis film breaks the mold, if you are a sci-fi buff like me, it's a must have, if you are into art films, its a must have, if you enjoy cryptozoology it's the most respectable film out there, if you are dumb and like films that don't require independent thought, go buy transformers or the fast and the furious. KUDOS to best buy for having independent gems like this available!
What's great about it: smart, professional, different, entertaining, well made, educational, thought provoking
