This elegant movie, a continuation of the post-network sensation, Firefly, is a sure-fire adventure! Joss Whedon is an amazing story-teller, and the casting for the movie is superb!
I felt after seeing trailers that the film would be big and loud, with stunning visuals and impressive scenery. The film certainly delivered on what it promised. The visuals of the movie were stunning and powerful, which made up for the generally average plot.
The acting was fairly well done, but I really expected better. I mean, why is it that every one of the top German officers in the movie speaks with a British accent? Ooops! Well, regardless, the casting was well done and if you can just ignore its shortcomings, the film was well shot and directed.
What's great about it: Cinematography, solid directing
I was quite impressed by this movie, as I initially thought the movie would be nothing more than a ploy to make more money off the X-Men franchise. Seeing this movie on blu-ray was a real treat!
The sound and picture quality are just out of this world! Some of the special effects in the movie seemed far too fake/obvious, which was unfortunate given that the other X-Men movies had such well done graphics. The plot in this movie is solid, and you get to learn more about the troubled Wolverine character. Not the best movie ever, but if you're looking to be entertained for a couple hours, this movie will certainly deliver.
