i went into my local best buy looking to buy the little brothers of these monsters but they were sold out and discontinued... my extreme need for satisfying my insatiable desire for instant gratification took hold of me and the store manager and i started looking at my options. queue in these behemoths...
initially the price point floored me, considering how my first car was only $500 and here i am about to spend 10 times that on SPEAKERS but man are these puppies worth it.
i bought these to replace the klipsch icon series (best buy exclusive) and in the midst of it my klipsch sub as well. i was weary but i FEEL bass i never knew existed with these amazing speakers.
i went around and tested martin logans and energy, even some high end polks... nothing compared to these def techs. (i have since replaced every speaker in my setup with def techs). i cannot say enough as to how impressed i am with these speakers.

i first purchased the mythos 7 to accommodate my mythos st-l loudspeakers and it just didn't cut it. the mythos 7 was perfect as far as size (have my center mounted above my samsung 8500) so i went with the smaller of the two... not a regrettable mistake but not the right fit for my system.
after an initial break in period i still wasn't satisfied and talked to the manager at my local bestbuy, told me to order the 9 and i could return the 7 for credit towards the 9... HAPPY DAYS!
now that i have squeezed this speaker into the only place i had available and given it the proper break in time its night and day between the 7 and the 9. so much more of a speaker for a few bucks more (at this price point i couldn't have asked for a better performing speaker).
as for the wall mount, i can't really comment on that cause i didn't use it. i went with the def tech pro mounts and mounted it from the ceiling

Great display, looks amazing. Some of the engines running on the panel make the presentation a bit too realistic giving that soap opera effect of just overly dramatic. The color spectrum out of the box seems a bit all over the place for a UHD. I have purchased an ISF calibration to bring this back in line as the user controls for calibration are either to simple or overly complex.
I had initially bought the 850A(2013 model) but didn't like the back light so upgraded to this one. Lost active 3D but that was not a high factor in my decision.
I did upgrade my standard HDMI 1.4 cable to the highspeed rated for more throughput. This eliminated the slight ghosting when going from a live screen to a black screen.
Otherwise a great purchase with a fair price and amazing display overall.

what do you mean the power cable is typical Sony? will an AudioQuest power cable fit?
