This game may not be the best game ever, but for a second tier game it is more than respectable. Fans of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time itching for another journey along those same lines will be pleased. It's pretty much The Sands of Time with a female protagonist, complete a bonkers story. Fans of Tomb Raider and Ico, games which Sands of Time was derived from might also like this game. The game might be considered repetitive, but if you sit back and stop worrying about how this game ranks against other games you just might find something to enjoy.
David Mamet's psychological thriller Spartan debuts on DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.40:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by star Val Kilmer and the movie's original theatrical trailer. This is a solid disc that offers impressive picture quality.

If you've seen this movie before or are a fan of David Mamet, then you know you either hate it or love it. The writing and dialogue can be seen as either brilliant or goofy; there is enjoyment to be had either way. This is a minimalistic military action story, that despite it's simple plot it tends to be confusing by not explaining anything to the audience. To some this may be a breath of fresh air with so many movies spoon-feeding every important detail.
The DVD features a commentary by Val Kilmer, which is often sarcastic and hilarious. The only other feature is the movie trailer. Lately, I've been into watching movie commentaries, so I try to always make sure discs have commentary when buying them.
