A Thrilling 3D Throw-Back!
on January 16, 2014

This film was planned with 3D in mind, but Converted in Post Production... and it looks fantastic in 3D! It's also a remake of the Roger Corman produced original B-Movie. Expect it to be cheesy and ridiculous. It's a blast, and awesome in 3D! 3D Video 4.5/5 2D Video 5/5, Audio 4.5/5 Special Features 3.5/5
My Best Buy number: 2201385726
What's great about it: It's a fun and over-the-top throw-back to great B movies.
What's not so great: It's a cheesy throw-back to B movies, so it's kinda bad..

A mindless, but fun action movie. The acting is kind of wooden, and the characters don't really evolve, but it'a an entertaining ride. Video 3.5/5 Audio 4/5 Special Features 1/5
My Best Buy number: 2201385726
What's great about it: Pretty fun, lots of cool visuals
What's not so great: Weak plot and acting, maily just a Mindless action movie

The Short Circuit films are a childhood favorite of mine. They are cheesy, and quite ridiculous, but I love them due to nostalgia. Video 3.5/5, Audio 3.5/5, Special Features 1/5
My Best Buy number: 2201385726
What's great about it: Fun Sci-Fi family adventures
What's not so great: Cheesy, and they show their age a bit...

The 1st is a classic, the 2nd is quite fun (in my opinion), 3 is kind of weak, and 4 is a mess. But hey, they're a blast! At least they're on Blu-ray... I just wish Universal would've given the set a little more TLC. Video 3.5/5, Audio 3.5/5, Special Features 3.5/5
My Best Buy number: 2201385726
What's great about it: How fun these cult-favorite films are
What's not so great: The restorations for the movies is a let down

This is the EPITOME of Guily Pleasure movies! It's So bad, and I hate that I love it. It's got a cult status for a reason, and it's ridiculous. Love it or hate it, SHOUT! Factory has done the movie justice on Blu-ray. Video 4/5, Audio 4/5, Special Features 4/5.
My Best Buy number: 2201385726
What's great about it: How cheesy and terrible it is. A guilty pleasure.
What's not so great: Pretty much everything, but I still love it.

In my opinion, Danny Boyle's best Film. It's Academy Award for Best Picture can back that up. This is a great film, with an incredible journey, and wonderful characters. The movie will pull your emotions in every direction. Do yourself a favor, and see Slumdog Millionaire! Video 4.5/5, Audio 5/5, Special Features 3.5/5

2 Muppet Classics in HD!!!
on January 16, 2014

from Arizona
Finally, The Great Muppet Caper & Muppet Treasure Island are on Blu-ray! My only real nitpick, is that they are packaged together, and out of sequence from the franchse. But that's not worth a fuss (Just a problem I have as a collector). These are classics, so I'll leave out a review of the films, and give scores for the Disc: Video 4/5, Audio 4/5, Special Features 3.5/5
My Best Buy number: 2201385726
What's great about it: Finally restored in HD
What's not so great: Packaged together, out of franchise Sequence (petty, I know)

Great Directorial Debut by JGL
on January 16, 2014
Posted by: Travman

Don Jon is the Directorial Debut of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and it was quite an impressive first outing. A basic but good story, great character developement, and excellent acting. The only thing I didn't enjoy was some of the foul language, which fits the characters, but seems a little unnecessary at times. Overall, a great film, and it has a good resolve for the main character. As far as the Disc goes, 4/5 Video, 4.5/5 Audio, and special features are a little light at 2.5/5
My Best Buy number: 2201385726
What's great about it: Directing & Acting
What's not so great: Not much to complain about, really

This wacky classic is a feast on blu-ray

At 25 years old, there is still nothing out there quite like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". Robert Zemeckis created a one-of-a-kind experience by shooting the entire film in live action (With live Action Stunts and props) and blended Richard Williams' animation onto the film ("Space Jam" did this as well, but without the same level of detail, class, and charm). The Picture looks great considering the blend of effects, and the audio is just as good. The special features are a little lacking, but the overall package is well worth the price.
What's great about it: Direction, Writing, Acting, Effects.
What's not so great: Could benefit from more special features

This set combines the first four films in the highly-successful Lethal Weapon film series starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as cops cracking tough cases as well as cracking wise.

This Series Makes An Explosive Debut on Blu-ray!
on May 24, 2012
Posted by: Travman
from Arizona
The first film is an '80s Action classic, the second follows closely behind, the third and fourth are great sequels that hold a more light-hearted tone. All-in-all, this series is a total blast! Buddy-Copy movies don't get much better than this.
The Video transfers for the first two films have been remastered for this release and feature fantastic video restorations and explosive audio tracks. The third film is very clean and spiffy, with great audio. Finally, the fourth film looks phenominal and sounds just as good.
The fifth disc contains a new four-part documentary on the series, and is quite in-depth and fun... and it's in HD.
What's great about it: Newly remastered Video and Audio presentations, New documentaries in HD.
What's not so great: Nothing.

A fair warning, the disc split will be back.
By TeufelBAMF from Auburn, AL
For those of you who own the Extended Editions of LOTR on DVD, you are aware of the all-annoying disc-change in the middle of the film. According to the official announcement (found here: http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=6045), the disc split will be back on this Blu Ray version of LOTR:EE. It is aggravating to no end, given that Blu Ray discs are 10x the size of DVDs. Read all the details for yourself, but be aware that the disc split will be back.

LOTR: EE Blu-ray Set
May 19, 2011
Blu-ray Discs can contain 6X the data as DVDs. However, the image produced from a Blu-ray Disc is much sharper using a lot more space, as well as lossless audio using an additional ammount of space then standard DVDs. The discs will be fantastic, without question, But keep in mind that the film's will be presented in thier "Extended Editions" with this release, this will make the split necessary for the best possible Video and Audio presentation. Plus, the extra discs are for bonus features as well, any Hard-Core Fan dishing out $90 for a Blu-ray set should expect to have a huge selection of bonus features, and this set will deliver. Just some things to keep in mind about this release.
