Great Budget Gaming Laptop

The Lenovo Legion Y530 (81FV0002US) has an awesome Intel i7 8750H processor with a nice increase in performance over last years i7, 16GB of DDR4 2666 memory, 16GB of Intel Optane Memory for fast access without requiring a solid-state drive, and a superior budget gaming Nvidia 4GB GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card. While great for the majority of games on the market and for video editing it is marginal at best for virtual reality applications at this time.
It has a very nice textured finish on the ABS plastic chassis, good cooling, reasonable battery run time and has small bezels around the screen with the camera placed on the bottom. The small bezels allow for a smaller footprint and a better visual experiance. At a hair over five pounds it is portable and can also be used as a business computer/number cruncher. It is a great improvement over computers with less RAM and standard hard disk drives.

A nice minimum capability gaming/video editing PC

The Lenovo - Legion Y530 15.6" Laptop with - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and a 1TB Hard Drive is a capable gaming computer for most of the PC games on the market although graphics intensive games with high and rapidly changing polygon counts can bog the system down and it may stutter. Please note that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti card is in my opinion a nice step up from the same class Nvidia’s cards from just last year. In addition to game play I also use it for video editing and it does a nice job although it uses hard disk access to augment RAM when needed. I would prefer more RAM. The Legion Y530 is sturdy and well-designed yet still weighs only about 5 pounds. I like the exterior finish and the keyboard functionality.

Most monitors cap out at 60Hz, (they refresh 60 times per second) but the faster the refresh rate the smoother gameplay looks and 240Hz is very fast. For optimal viewing you need a FAST gaming machine. Both sturdy and attractive, it stays where you position it (you can also mount it on a VESA mount). The monitor has slim bezels.
It has multiple USB ports that can be used to charge wireless headphones etc (it also has a headphone hook on the top of the monitor stand.
DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 ports are easily reached from the front.
The Acer Predator XB272 offers both regular buttons and jog buttons along with a very usable menu system.
It has a reasonable viewing angle, good contrast, good color gamut (75 percent of the AdobeRGB color space) and reasonable color accuracy.
I would like it to have 4K.

Interesting play toy

This is a very novel concept – let an AI agent seize the moment. It sounds great and may work out that way with extended use. Unfortunately, I found the images to be captured mostly just based on motion. The image quality is not as high as I would have expected from Google for the price. It is unobtrusive, small, lightweight and easy to set up. It seems to be durable. Video but no audio – why? This may be the future when it has matured and is capable of greater things.

Retro Photo - inexpensive camera - expensive fun

Instant results that you can hand someone. Polaroid déjà vu - for a low-priced camera and high priced prints. This is a retro Polaroid camera modeled after the Polaroid OneStep. The prints look like what I remember the early Polaroid prints to look like. The camera is simple to use. On/off switch, film bay latch, flash off button(must be squeezed while releasing the shutter), shutter release button, exposure slider, an 8 dot LED exposure counter, with a USB port and cable(for charging only). It is bulky but light weight – easy to carry with the neck strap. It uses a slightly wide angle, high-quality plastic lens. Due to the viewfinder, careful framing is required. It drew comments and appreciation from those that saw it and its photos. It falls between the pure instancy of digital and the latency of silver halide in approach.

A sound choice in water resistant - wireless buds

The WF-SP700Ns have an IPX4 water/dust intrusion rating that protects the earbuds from sweat and moisture, water-resistant (not immersion or heavy stream) in a pair of well-engineered and stylish earbuds. They feature active noise cancellation that can be switched off or to the ambient sound mode, so you can let in outside sound while you're listening to music, news etc. They come with a small pocketable charging case that can give two full charges of about 3 hours each or a 15-minute quick charge that provides up to 70 minutes of listening time. The WF-SP700N has pure highs and solid bass. They have worked well with no dropouts or other problems on multiple devices and OSs - and I live in a high signal noise transmission area. They were very easy to pair using Bluetooth including through NFC. The tips and retainers work well for keeping them in the ear even under erratic motion. Sony has produced very nice, state of the art, truly wireless earbuds.

Great for Video Processing & Gaming

I have had an ASUS ROG 17-inch gaming computer that I got from the Best Buy on Michigan Ave. in Chicago for over 5 years now. I use it as a gaming/video editing laptop. I wanted more power and portability and got the ASUS ROG 15-inch from Best Buy. For this genre, it is both light, slim and attractive. The build and engineering are both quite solid and well implemented. A brushed black aluminum finish with a ROG logo is very attractive. A rigid top body and lower case are made of aluminum, which keeps them from warping. The 5.5lbs weight is light for this class of computer. The keyboard is quite nice and has great ergonomics for gaming. It has RGB LED backlighting that can be synced to music and Aura compatible components. I have had no heat problems. Both the CPU and GPU are upper tier performers. The 120Hz display is good but only uses 72% of the NTSC color gamut. It provides great sound. Battery runtime is adequate for limited unplugged use.
This is a very nice gaming/video editing laptop with great build quality, style and performance.

The major difference between the two series appears to be the number of functions, with the Designer Series having the most settings. Blendtec also has a series of pro blenders. You can do a search for Blendtec/commercial. They both seem to be very rugged.

Best way to get clear low light shots with action
What is the best way to achieve good motion shots in low light on this camera? I am frequently trying to capture images or video in poorly lighted gyms or auditoriums. Is there a recommended preset that handles these conditions well?
Use the highest ISO you are comfortable with digital noise wise. Preferably 3200 or above. Shoot at the widest aperture preferred setting 1.8 at 28mm if possible. This will give you the fastest shutter speed possible. Last but not least pan with your subject. - good shooting!
