Good all around laptop with basic gaming ability

This laptop is an entry level gaming laptop. It looks like a normal laptop except for the shelf behind the hinge of the screen. It is solidly made, and is on the heavy side for a laptop of this size and thickness. It is a 1080p screen with 144 hertz. This is an all intel laptop with an intel processor and an intel ARC dGPU graphics. Boots up extremely fast, gets to the login screen in just a few seconds. You can disable fast boot if you want an easier time of getting to the BIOS. The back comes off fairly normally, there is room to put in a second NVME SSD for more onboard storage. The RAM it comes with is 12GB which is unusual, and a bit low for any gaming laptop. The included SSD is a 512GB model, The dedicated Intel ARC graphics card also only has 4 GB of RAM, which is low for any gaming laptop. The difference between this and most gaming laptops is that this laptop will NOT use the dGPU unless you specifically tell it to for each and every game. You have to go into Settings, Graphics and choose Desktop App or Windows Store App selection, then find your game/application on the list and tell it which to use, built in graphics or the dedicated graphics. This works but would be confusing for basic computer users, who would need to rely on the prompts to do so by the Intel software. I could not get the Intel Arc Control software to find my games with a scan, so adding by Windows 11 menu Graphics was the only way to force the use of the graphics card. I would recommend this for an all around laptop, battery is good for unplugged general computer use. Gaming on battery will be around an hour or so depending on the intensity of the resources used by the game. As an entry level gaming laptop, it works, runs older AAA games fine, like Fallout 4, etc. Will not be able to meet the minimum requirements of many of the newer 2023/2024 release big games.

Fun Colorful LOUD Party Speaker with Mic/guitar in

I am really impressed by the features that were put into this party speaker. 1/8" jack input for Guitar/Microphone is awesome, backyard karaoke with the kids was fun. Used it mostly with Bluetooth, but old school 1/8" jack input worked, as did the USB-A connection, which is a nice feature to have. Very portable, a bit heavy, but in a good way, end rings act as handles. It gets plenty loud for a living room, den, deck, or backyard. The ULT modes give you noticeable differences in the Bass especially, and I like how the ULT button lights up in synch with the other lights. Battery life is stated as up to 30 hours, but I used mine very loud and with light effects on all the time, and got around maybe 7 hours use out of a full charge over 4 days. I'm happy with that. Downloading the app is necessary to adjust the equalizer manually. I like that once it had Bluetooth permission, the app found the speaker and connected up in a flash, no handholding necessary. The light effects via the app are fairly basic, but I liked the default lighting effect that it starts up with the best. It is extremely round, so it will roll off wherever, so it's best to stand it up on one end or loop the handle with a bungie cord to add stability if on an uneven surface. I really recommend this for a versatile party / karaoke mic speaker for on the go and at home, practice speaker for guitar is a bonus.

Fast Storage Drive Using as Gen4x4 in Laptop

I used this as a second storage drive on a gaming laptop. It was recognized and runs as a Gen4 x 4 lanes. It was found in BIOS correctly, and easily setup in Disk Management utility. This drive performed about as fast as the system drive in Reading benchmarks, just a tiny bit slower in Writing benchmarks, but noticeably ran cooler, with no heatsink attached, runs cooler than 970 EVO PRO. This would be just fine as a main drive in a gaming laptop, swapping out to increase storage on the system drive slot. This is my first DRAM-less SSD, and I like that it can be used in a Gen5x2 lanes if your device has that slot. Thats why its listed as a hybrid SSD I guess. I loaded and played games on it, trying one with Directstorage feature and that worked fine. Samsung Magician software had no problem interacting with this drive. Keep in mind this has about 5gb/s bandwidth versus some of the faster 7gb/s bandwidth, so transferring some size of files might be slower than expected for a drive labelled Gen5. I would recommend for sizing up in gaming laptops or all around use laptops, or adding as secondary drive as I have done.

Great entry gaming laptop

I really like this RTX 4060 / Intel i7 based gaming laptop. It is a great entry level gaming laptop. The RTX 4060 runs cooler than the earlier RTX 3060 I had in my last gaming laptop. DLSS and Frame Generation also work better in the RTX 4060. I am able to play Starfield at the native 1920 x 1200 resolution using Digital Foundry recommended graphic settings and get FPS in the high 80s to low 100s in the game using DLSS in quality mode and Frame Generation with minimal input lag (with Nvidia reflex low latency turned ON). This is a big improvement over the RTX 3060 from a similar laptop from two years ago.
I really like how clean the windows 11 install on this laptop was, virtually no bloatware. There was only the Gigabyte Control Center for the gaming / fan settings and a Smart USB Backup app from Gigabyte, that was it. The hardest part of setup was finding out online what I needed to do to register my laptop with Gigabyte. Hint, you need to create an account through their AORUS brand, too convoluted to find and understand for my liking. This particular laptop has no AORUS branding at all. The 32GB of ram the laptop comes with is plenty and the 1 TB SSD is fast enough. There is another SSD stick drive slot if you want to add a second drive for more hard drive space.
The battery lasts okay when using for general computer, but I mostly use it for gaming so it is usually plugged in, I have the battery set to charge no higher than 80 percent since it is used plugged in almost exclusively.
I would recommend this laptop for an entry level gaming laptop, that can also function as a good all around laptop for everyday use.

Decent open ear headphones, but not for big ears

These Bose earphones are an interesting form factor, using a tension on a coil to hold the open ear earphones around the edge of your ear above your ear lobe and place the speaker portion near your ear canal. This is good in theory, but it relies on the right size of ear to work properly, unlike other open ear earphones that have a band around your head or a small band that goes between the top of your ear and your head. I tried these, but my ears are far too big to use these properly. The barrel portion does tension around the edge of my ear above my ear lobe as intended, but the distance from where the speaker portion then rests on my ear is quite a distance from my ear canal, so the sound of the music is fairly low. Even when I have them at full volume, the volume I hear in my far away ear canals is mid level at best. I did test this by having people with more normal size ears wear them and they reported the sound was way too loud at full volume and they generally listened to music at about 35 to 40 percent of full volume. The sound quality is excellent. I could also observed that the speaker portion was much closer to their ear canal than on my ear. Definitely pass for those with large ears. The immersive sound options were very nice, especially the motion one, its pretty cool to hear the music move around you as you move, it must use an accelerometer to detect movement. The Bose app does tend to get confused and takes a bit to get reset when it has a hiccup, but it does this by itself, with no user intervention needed, and does it without restarting the app. I would recommend to try this if you have normal sized ears and want an open ear earphone that doesn't have any bands around your head.

The hot and cold is unique and really noticeable!

I like that the unit came with the temperature head installed on it, because that is all that we have used. The battery takes about 3 hours or so to charge from near empty and lasts a good long time. It does have an auto shut off after running for awhile. Its easy to hold the button on bottom of handle to turn it on (display comes on). Then select hot or cold or neither with the dial around the display. It takes 30 seconds or so to get hot or cold. Then quick press the handle button to turn it on and select the power setting. No one has wanted to use it above a 1 (lowest) setting. It has plenty of punch at the 1 setting and the heat feels really good on sore or tight muscles. I like the cold setting for working out those morning after aches and pains coming from a warm bed. The compact size is very nice, makes it easy to pack and take with you, even in its carrying case, which holds everything, except for the USB charging block you need for charging, which it does NOT come with, you have to provide that. It charged with all of the five different ones I had on hand to test it with.

Great High End Alexa AND Hey Google Speaker!

Great sound on this Smart Speaker! Does not start to distort till the very high end. More than enough volume and push for a small to mid size room. Big plus, can play/pause, control volume AND Bass and Treble from the dials on the unit itself, no smartphone needed for the basics once its setup (you do need a smartphone to set it up though). My favorite feature on this is that you can use both Amazon's Alexa and Alphabet's Hey Google freely on this speaker. Between the two services you can listen to most any song especially if you have the premium service through either one of the two. I was able to ask Alexa questions or start some songs and then instantly Hey Google to something else, seamlessly. Works very well.
One of my other favorites about this speaker is that it has an ethernet jack so you don't have depend on WiFi if you don't want. Wish more "smart" devices that obviously have the space for it had ethernet jacks like this one. There is also a 3.5mm regular input jack and a USB C connection on the back as well. The USB C connection worked fine for MP3 music for me.

Tremendous Gaming/Music PC Speakers

Wow, these are not your typical desktop speakers. Though they are Razer brand, these do not come with controllable RGB lighting. In fact there is no custom lighting at all. They are 2.0, that means, without a separate subwoofer, but are full range. They are BIG and heavy, you will need to make some space for them, especially depth wise that you might not be used to with desktop speakers. They have a power button right on them and will auto shut off by themselves with no activity going on, a very good power saving feature. I plugged them into my Windows 11 PC and had no problem getting them setup. They get pretty load and go quite high volume before any distortion starts to creep in. They are way louder than you need for any use while you are actually sitting at the desk/computer they are at. They are good enough for room filling music in most small to medium spaces. I also tested with my smartphone connected via Bluetooth, the speakers use Bluetooth 5.0. You tap the power button twice on the speakers to switch to Bluetooth mode, or select Bluetooth if you have the Razer Synapse 3 software installed on your PC. You can also connect your Nintendo Switch to the speakers via Bluetooth. This worked well and gives your setup a very clean look if using the Nintendo with a portable screen that does not have good speakers. You do have to use Razer Synapse 3 software on the PC to adjust the EQ (equalizer) settings for these speakers.

Great Leaf and Sbow Blower Combo, Powerful

These werenmy firat 80v type yard devices. Have only been able to test the snow blower on a very light snowfall with slight accumulation, but it did pick it up and throw the snow like a snowblower should. The leaf blower was way more powerful than my 20v leaf blower and noticebly picked up and blew leaves and debris a good 20 feet away with some force. I like the controls on both the snow blower and the leaf blower, as they are easy to understand and use. The batteries hold a good charge, i was able to get a lot of leaf blowing done in about 30 minutes before the battery wore down. The indicator on the battery let me check the remaining charge at a glance. The batteries take about 2 hours to charge, thats approximate as I wasnt keeping that close an eye on it. The battery charger is simple to understand with its light indicators. I would recommend this for sidewalks and driveway clearing for the snowblower and big area debris clearing for the leafblower. They are powerful and easy to use/ fairly light weight.

Not Even A One Trick Pony, More Like A 1/4 Trick

This is one underpowered machine. Like almost completely unusably underpowered. If you happened to live through 386's and 486's computers, this laptop is almost nostalgic in a sense. If you recall Windows 3.11 Windows for Workgroups or even Windows 95, We didn't have to log in, but we still did have to boot up the computer. So we booted up the computer, and then we went and did something else, because we knew it would be a long time before the computer was ready to use. Well this laptop is like that. You boot it up, log in, and then its at least 10 minutes before a web page will load. Its that slow. It does get better, after you know 15 minutes of being booted up, you might even get two web pages to load at the same time, if you are lucky. This is after all updates were done, but before any tweaking or uninstalling were done.
This laptop took over 6 hours to update when it was first powered on, I'm not kidding. And when it was updating, you couldn't do anything else, a single web page would not load, even when the updating cycle occasionally took around 45 minutes between reboots.
I did uninstall everything I could, but I did leave it in Windows 11 S Mode, because, well it wasn't going to do any better with MORE complicated programs, thats for sure. After uninstalling everything I could, and turning off all the startup items I could, and changing the settings for Microsoft Edge and Phone Link apps to use the least amount of resources, I was able to get a simple web page to load after about 6 minutes after logging in, but it took another 3 minutes for a second tab's simple web page to load though. Thats the best I got.
I did contact Lenovo Tech Support and they said it was a "software problem" and they only deal with hardware warranty issues and advised me to find a local tech to work on it. I would not recommend for any reason.

If this works with Nest system will it work with Ecobee* system? I We decided against the Nest system due to the class action suits regarding house fires. I would love to add this to our home.

Will Google Home be able to play-stop-control music on my home computer? I would like to use this device to control what music is played through my home sound system, which is connected to my computer.
No, the music services it works with are in "the cloud". You would have to upload all your desired music to google play music, make playlists, and then say, "Hey Google, play playlist XXXXX"

IS Philips - hue White LED Starter Kit required in order for the speaker to work?
No, the audio from the speaker does not require any home automation equipment like the Philips Hue devices to operate.

It is not compatible directly with the Wink hub. I hope it is added in the future.

Can Google Home access and play music from from my iTunes account?
No, at launch, it only works with Google Play Music, YouTube Red (subscription required), Pandora, and Spotify (subscription required). It does offer a 6 month trial for YouTube Red under "offers", which when activated also gives you the Premium version of access for Google Play Music.

Can it work with Roku and streaming TV?
It only works with chromecast receivers for video, and at launch it only casts youtube videos.

Q I am looking for1 Orbi router and 3 Orbi satellites for my big home, since Netgear is not giving the option to buy satellites individually ,will I be able to order two boxes of Orbi and be able to use one of Orbi router as a satellite ,? interchange
No, the Router is a Router and there is nothing in the current firmware to make it mimic the Satellite. The Router and Satellite in the package come pre-paired to make it easier on the end-user. There are SYNCH buttons on the units to pair them manually.

I have Verizon Fios for services. It's good, but the only downfall is I can't replace there Gateway/router with my own that's better. Will the Orbit work be able to replace this and will it work with this fiberoptic service?
Yes, you can place the Orbi in AP mode and connect it via Ethernet cable to your existing Gateway/Router. Be sure to turn off the wireless in the Fios Router as well. Let the Orbi handle the wireless. Netgear has an article explaining this exact scenario. Search for "How do I set up my Orbi system to work with Fios"

So if it comes with two, I'm assuming you have one that internet is linked to by cable and the other is used as a extender? Or do you have to have both units hooked to cable?
Yes, one (router) will be hooked to your modem via Ethernet cable. The other (satellite) will be connected by its dedicated wireless signal back to the router.
