Very good performance for the price
on August 9, 2022
Posted by: Loomis1975
These earbuds are very light and fairly small. The battery life is really good, and the case will charge them full about 3 times. I had to change from the default medium sized tips to the large sized tips to keep them in my ears though. I was able to wear them for many hours, probably at least 5 hours before my ear canals got a bit sensitive and I needed a break. The JLab signature eq profile sounded best to me. Music sounded great, with good mid range. Calls worked very well. Callers could understand me easily.
These stayed just fine when jogging. I like the big number of controls they let you do by tapping or tap and hold on both earbuds. There is no active noise cancellation, but there is a be-aware mode to let you hear your surroundings better. The charging case is curious, there is no wireless charging on this particular case, and it has a built in USB-A cable that hides well under the bottom of the case to charge. I think a standard USB-C port to plug into would have been a better choice in this day and age. I do like how music pauses when you take them out of your ears and starts back up when you put them back in. Also how they turn on and repair when you take them out of the case and turn off when you put them back in the case. Very well done. I recommend these for all around use and good for exercising as well.

Good Entry Level Gaming Laptop, but Chunky
on August 6, 2022
Posted by: Loomis1975
This entry level gaming laptop game packaged well and comes with a big 180w charger brick. The connector on the charger is the same barrel plug that has been on most Dell Laptops for at least the last decade and a half. But if you plug in an older/lower wattage dell charger with the same plug, and try to power on this laptop, it will quickly remind you that that 80 or 90w charger isn't going to do the trick long term.
The hardware is from 2022 releases, with the newest Ryzen 5 CPU generation, and DDR5 for the system memory. I can't tell, but I assume the drive is PCIE Gen4 (latest) speed, and the graphics card memory is listed as DDR6.
This laptop is Chunky with a Captial C, and heavy. This is not a form factor you might be used for the notebook that's also a gaming laptop, i.e. thin, light, powerful, and very very hot when gaming. This is more like the standard gaming laptop case from 5 or so years ago. The speckling on the off-white plastic caught me off guard, but now it's growing on me, I kind of like it. Reminds me of cookies and cream. The screen is nice, 1080p, capable of fast refresh, not overly bright, but gets the job done. The hinge on the screen comes in a little on each side, be careful not to get something stuck in there when closing the laptop.
Now for the guts. I took the back off and added an 8gb DDR5 stick in to the open memory slot on the laptop. 16gb of ram works a lot better for many of the tasks a gaming laptop will be tasked to do. 8gb is the absolute minimum and consider upgrading to 16gb as the first (and cheapest) thing to do if you think you need more oomph out of this laptop. When having the back off, you will notice that there is only a place for ONE SSD drive slot, which is of course taken by the mini 512GB drive that this laptop comes with. Again, 512GB is the bare minimum for a gaming laptop, I really think they should have gone with a 1TB drive to start. Because you can't just add a second drive in here, it's much more of a process to move to a bigger drive than just adding a 2nd memory stick like I did.
The sound is pretty good for a laptop, but I usually wear over the ear cans when using my laptops, there is a headset jack for the wired versions, and a USB-C connector for the all-purpose wireless headsets. Bluetooth is also an option. The wireless Wi-Fi card is AX, so plenty of speed if you got the router for it.
Speaking of the USB-C connector, it is on the back with the HDMI port, the charger plug port, and one USB-A standard connector. So, if minimalist look is your goal, you can pretty much hide all your important connections behind the laptop.
As far as gaming, this is entry level with an entry level graphics card, the 3050, with a definitely entry level amount of graphics ram at 4GB. It did well on Forza Horizon 5 at medium settings at native 1080p resolution looking good, kept the frames per second from dropping too low. The "G" button (press Function Key and F9) on the keyboard will boost the fans to the max to help out on intensive use. It will get fairly hot when going full tilt, but not as much as say a notebook style gaming laptop. You should be able to play older games with most of the bells and whistles set on high.
I recommend this laptop for entry gaming, but would recommend adding 8GB of ram to make it perform a bit better all around.

Very versatile and pretty good active noise cancel
on August 5, 2022
Posted by: Loomis1975
The box these came in was very well put together presentation wise, opening it up really drew your attention to the quality of the materials used. The case for these is top notch, a spot for everything and a small spot for the usb-c dongle, so you don't lose it! It is a large zip case, but it protects the headphones very well.
The fit on these is pretty good on my just a bit larger than average sized head. I didn't have to extend them very much from the closed position. The ear cups are fairly large. Even fairly large ears will still be inside the cups comfortably. They are pretty comfortable and not too tight. since they don't press on the ears hardly at all, I can wear them quite a long time.
The battery lasts a good long while and will give you several long gaming sessions or many hours of music listening before needing recharging.
The Active Noise Canceling is pretty good on this headset. You can adjust the level if you use the app available on your smartphone, but I always keep it at the highest level. The listen through mode lets you hear outside noise amplified when walking out and about and it does a decent job, with some hiss added as you would expect if you had a headset with that feature before.
My favorite thing about this headset is the two ways to use it wirelessy. The dongle allows you to use it on Playstation 5, Smartphones, and computers. I like the sound through these slightly better using the dongle versus using Bluetooth. The dongle fits great on my Surface Pro X, and can orient so as not to block the other USB-C port. The dongle is USB-C, but comes with an adapter so you can use the dongle with standard USB-A port, i.e. the full size connector. I used the dongle on desktop computer, Samsung Galaxy S22, the aforementioned Surface Pro X, and it worked great. It blinks green when it is using the dongle connection and blue of course for bluetooth. The sound on these is pretty good in midrange. The bass is not that deep, but pretty effective. There are modes to select via the app to get small equalizer type differences. These worked very well for computer gaming, the mic picked up my voice just fine. Also liked them for listening to shows, sports, movies on computer or Android. These are my new favorite do anything headset, just wish the dongle worked on Xbox Series X, but it only works on the Playstation 5.

Amazing Value and Great Sounding Wireless Earbuds
on May 16, 2022
Posted by: Loomis1975
from Kennewick, WA
I'm really impressed with these earbuds, especially at their price point. The charging/holding case is very compact, it's USB Type C, the case is designed so you really can't put them in backwards. There are no adjustments for ear canal size, no removeable memory foam or rubber ear pieces, but the taper design happens to fit my ears pretty well. The fit is adjusted by rotating the earbud in your ear to change how the taper of the earbud is sitting in your ear canal. They are super easy to pair upon initial startup, The controls are simple, tap once on either earbud to play/pause, tap twice on left earbud for lower volume, tap 3x on left earbud for higher volume. Tap twice on right earbud to skip to next song, or tap 3x on right earbud to restart current song/go back to previous song. The volume can get pretty loud on them if you exceed the bluetooth volume warning on your phone. The sound quality is pretty good. Call answer/hangup is a simple tap of either earpiece. Reported sound quality for calls is normal from the other party. These things really deliver on their simplicity, value, and compactness. You should be able to get a lot of listening out of these in a day if you have time to recharge them in the case every so often. At this price, you definitely won't feel as put out if they stop charging so well after their first year.

Great fitness tracker and workout helper
on March 4, 2022
Posted by: Loomis1975
from Kennewick, WA
I really liked this fitness tracker, its very focused. As far as sizing, I would suggest checking and double checking your wrist size with a cloth measuring tape to make sure you get the right size or wrist band, I got the medium and it barely fits, using the last hole on the band.
You HAVE to use the smartphone app to set it up. It is bluetooth only, no wifi. When you set it up to your Amazon account via the app, it will start a included one year subscription to the Halo service, which will auto renew at current price in you guessed it one year.
Its pretty focused, only text notifications available from your phone, which I didn't use. The heart rate monitor provides good info, current HR, resting HR today, and maximum HR today, see app for trending data. The blood oxygen O2 sensor is on demand only, and data doesn't appear on the app. Sleep function gives some basic results on tracker, more details on the app, helps you see how you have been sleeping. The exercise guidance and options are pretty well thought out and useful for such a small screen on the tracker. I enjoyed several of them.

Great Idea if already using foam earplugs
on January 30, 2022
Posted by: Loomis1975
from Kennewick, WA
I really like this idea, the functionality of them is very simple and easy to use. You can take them out of the package and charge up the earbuds and use them for their primary function right away without pairing to any Bluetooth audio device. The foam tips comes in three sizes, The default ones that were already on the buds in the box fit my ears and feel like disposable foam earplugs. When you compress them to put in your ear canal, they expand faster than regular foam earplugs, so you have to compress them and get them in quickly, benefit is you don't have to hold them in place for very long while the foam expands. The switch to turn on and off the ambient sound feature is a mechanical switch, and if left on, will drain out the battery. Turn on the ambient sound feature when you are wearing these and you will hear a finger snapping sound. You will also hear some white noise generation, especially in a quiet environment. BUT the feature will cut out over loud noises protecting your hearing. Quieter constant noise like a generator hum or air movement fan, or similar will be picked up and amplified just noise and sounds, leading to an even higher level of "white noise". These things are great for hearing others in a noisy work environment. There are several levels of the ambient sound feature, I mostly use them on the quietest setting. These will be great to reduce the amount of startle reactions I have when wearing traditional earplugs, I'm able to hear people and things coming when they are out of line of sight.
The bluetooth function works fine and music sounds okay for being earbuds, I usually prefer headsets with cans for listening to music. Phone calls worked okay, if the band is on the back of your neck, you will sound very muted to the person on the other end, also the person will hear some background noise while you are actively speaking. I recommend these for anyone who regularly wears foam earplugs, as I'm sure you will be able to find at least one thing they offer that will make life easier on you.

Remove plaque and experience a deep, effective clean with Sonicare technology, removing up to 7x more plaque vs. a manual toothbrush. Sonicare technology gently pulses water between your teeth, for a month's worth of manual brushing in just 2 minutes. The QuadPacer lets you know when you've spent the optimal amount of time on each section of your mouth while the SmarTimer signals when your 2 minutes is up. The pressure sensor flashes red to remind you to ease off, helping to prevent gum recession, while the 2 intensity settings ensure a comfortable clean that’s right for you. Going electric might feel like a big step, but with this brush you’re in safe hands. Its slim ergonomic design and familiar-shaped head gives you everything you need for an effective clean. The kit includes 1 Philips Sonicare 4100 electric toothbrush, 1 Optimal Plaque Control (C2) brush head and 1 USB charger (wall adaptor not included).

Great Basic Electric Toothbrush
on January 13, 2022
Posted by: Loomis1975
from Kennewick, WA
This electric toothbrush has heads that the handle tracks the run time of, to remind you when to replace the heads with a light on the handle. The heads have a little wifi like symbol to tell them apart from other heads. My house has quite a few sonicare by Philips electric toothbrushes in all. This one is basic, but it also has a 30 second timer to help remind you to change quadrants of your mouth, and a 2 minute timer to remind you when you reached the recommended total brushing time goal. I let my 7 year old set it up and use it. I showed them the features and the indicator lights on the toothbrush. It brushes really well, helps to have more uniform brushing of the teeth and gums. One thing to note, it comes with a usb charge pad for the tooth brush, but not a charger i.e. the part you plug into the wall. You have to use an existing charger with a standard usb type A port to plug this charge pad into. This is a very affordable streamlined electric toothbrush, and it is actually smaller size, length and bulk, than the kid branded sonicare toothbrushes from a few years ago, so easy for kids to handle. I recommend this for adults and kids alike.

Great living room or den Air Purifier
on December 10, 2021
Posted by: Loomis1975
from Kennewick, WA
This one is big. The large filter medium came assembled and ready to go inside a plastic bag in the unit, just remove door, unbag, put back in, close door and plug in. The auto mode works great with the air monitoring sensors to kick up the fan speed and warn of greater particulate concentration near the purifier. I tested it next to another air purifier with an air monitor sensor built in and they both kicked up the fan speed and warned of air quality issue about the same strength/fan speed increase in response to opening an oven with bacon cooking inside about 8 feet away. Auto mode is where these types of filters shine. Just set it and forget it. The display panel is very bright and you can't turn it off when using the filter unless you choose sleep mode (moon icon). All lights will turn off in sleep mode and the fan will run at a very low level, hard to hear it at all even standing nearby. 3 month life estimated on the HEPA filter, with a light to illuminate when you should consider replacing the filter. I like this unit a lot and will be good for a large room like a den or living/sitting room.

Great Monitor/Practice/Small Venue PA
on December 10, 2021
Posted by: Loomis1975
from Kennewick, WA
This speaker really suprised me. Our budding singer/songwriter had an easy time setting this up with a microphone, music lined in from his phone, and a guitar, all setup and sound levels adjusted in minutes. He also loves this for practice. 3 inputs, one is always for piped in sound, but the other two can be microphone or guitar/insturment. The sound is great and plenty loud for a small venue. It it had one fall off in performance, it would be with heavy bass sound, its no subwoofer. With the optional battery, this setup would give a solo performer everything to have great sound and presence, anywhere and anytime. We tried it for simple projector screen 2-mic karoke from a laptop and it worked really well, easy to adjust the line in music level versus the microphone level to make it sound right. Karoke is kind of slumming it for this versatile performance speaker, but it is definitely in its wheel house. I really recommend this for the DJs and performers out there, although the battery would probably be required to get the most Unique and compelling use out of this for those already with a lot of audio equipment.

Great device when out and about for Echo users
on December 1, 2021
Posted by: Loomis1975
from Kennewick, WA
First thing to note, these are speakers directing sound towards your ears, not bone induction audio technology. This means if the volume is loud enough or you are close enough to others, they will hear what you have going on. One of the benefits of these, same as bone induction, is that they are open ear systems, meaning you are more aware of environmental noises around you. Obviously, you can't wear earplugs with these to focus on the sound like you can with bone induction.
These are sunglasses, so I reviewed them as such, using them in situations where you would be wearing sunglasses. One thing to note, sunglasses are often perched up on your forehead/brow when temporarily not needing the light shading. When you do this, the volume decreases a lot, about by half. This is due to the increased distance and angle of the speakers to your ears.
Once synched to the Alexa app on your smartphone, these work much like a portable echo dot speaker, the difference being the notifications from your phone being the main main source of unprompted interaction. When you get a notification from an app that the Frames has not received before, Alexa will ask you if you want to continue receiving notifications for that app, swipe to keep getting that app's notification, tap to drop it from the list. The Alexa app has a spot to redo or edit the notifications allowed list. Making and Taking calls on the Frames worked very well, the other person on the line had no issues conversing with me. The Frames has an auto volume level that seems to work fairly well, it will up the volume to the speakers when the ambient noise level increases and decrease the volume when it gets really quiet.
There is a feature to put the frames to sleep when they are set down on their back, temple up. The red light on one of the stems will light for 3 seconds letting you know they are going to sleep. This is NOT the same as turning them off completely. The battery will slowly drain in this sleep mode. Battery life varies with use. If you put them to sleep by laying them down when they were on, the battery drained about 30 percent over 10 hours or so. When you put them on and they comeback to "life" it will give you a battery status, only in 10 percent increments. 10 percent is the last warning you get before it will state that battery is depleted and will now be turning off.
These are very useful if you want to listen to music or podcasts/books while out and about, but the battery won't last much more than a couple hours for that use case.
I really recommend these for those that use Echo/Alexa a lot or want to listen to things outside without blocking out enivronmental noise. The sunglasses would be a natural transition from the house to the outside or from Echo Auto to the outside.

Looking to get help from Alexa and Google Home owners. I have had Alexa since it's release. Thinking of switching everything over to Google Home. Thoughts on which one is better?

They both have their uses. I have both, I use both. You can use Alexa to get to Cortana, and use Cortana to get to Alexa. You can use Alexa and Fire TV to quickly view Arlo Cameras. Both integrate well with Wink Hub 2 based smart home devices, and can do so at the same time. It would be nice to get all the smart speakers and displays to play the same music together synched regardless of if they are Google or Amazon based, but that's probably never going to happen. If I had to pick one, I'd pick Alexa because of how many skills they have for it. But I don't have to, because they coexist quite well.

Get work done or play games on this 24-inch Dell monitor. Its 1920 x 1080 resolution delivers a crisp display for images and text, and its wide viewing angle provides a clear picture whether sitting or standing. This Dell monitor has HDMI connectivity for use with gaming consoles or PCs.

Can you plug in an xbox one into this monitor and play games on it with a wireless controller?

Yes you can do that. I have tested it. If you want regular sound, you will have to hook up speakers to the audio line out jack on the monitor. It does not have internal speakers, but will convert HDMI audio to the analog line out jack, which is a standard headphone type jack.

Picture shows 3d nand. When I purchased and opened at home, no 3d nand label. Asked WD support rep if it was 3d nand and they said no. Is this actually the 3d nand version?

Mine wasn't 3d nand.

Sleep better. Cover unwanted noise with soothing sounds. Bose noise-masking sleepbuds™ are uniquely designed for sleep. They don’t stream music or have acoustic noise cancellation. Instead, these tiny, wireless earbuds use pre-loaded, soothing sounds to cover up unwanted noises, so you can get to sleep — and stay asleep. Plus, unlike traditional earplugs, they’re super comfortable and made to stay in place all night long, even if you sleep on your side. 1. Choose your sound, 2. Set an alarm, 3. Fall asleep without unwanted noise.

How well do these work for silencing out loud snoring from your bed partner?

They don't silence out the snoring, they mask it with other more relaxing sounds. I'd say they do a pretty good job of masking most snoring, but if you got a partner like a jet engine, you probably don't sleep next to them already.

YOU DON'T HAVE THE BOSE NOISE MAKING SLEEPBUDS IN BLACK COLOR

That is correct. These Bose - Noise-masking sleepbuds - White are marketed as White and in fact, when received, are confirmed to be white in color.

Enjoy a variety of entertainment with this LG mini hi-fi system. Its Bluetooth function lets you stream audio from digital devices, and you can also play music from cassettes, FM radio and CDs. This LG mini hi-fi system has a USB port to read flash drive files and includes a remote control for convenience.

Will the unit work with bluetooth speakers?

I could not get it to work to connect or output to Bluetooth speakers. It worked fine as receiving input from a phone via Bluetooth.
