Great Product, Works Great

I really like this panini grill/griddle. I have read a lot of other reviews and I think some are too harsh when discussing the griddle.
First off for the price I think its a great buy. There are several competitors out there with the same concept but I think this one has a good price and does it better than the others.
The front of the machine has a knob to chose panini mode, which both grill plates are the same temp, or griddle mode, where you can manual set the temperature of each individual plate. This is the only part that I would change, just have one mode really. I have not checked to see how accurate the temperature control was but when it was cooking it sizzled at the same rate during the entire time and each time my food from different areas came out cooked to the same degree. The warm up time is very very reasonable. This was of some concern with others that it was too long. Well turn it on, prepare your food, and it will easily be ready before you are ready to put food on. My food has cooked evenly every time and no worries there. The right side of the handle has simple knob that rotates to lock the lid in different positions which could come in handy if trying to just melt cheese. You can use this knob to lock it shut but its not locked tight enough to pick it up thinking it will hold it shut.
Yes when you lift up the lid vertical if there is any juice or oils on the top plate it will run down and drip off the back. That's called gravity and there's nothing that you can do about it. Because the lid floats, the plates come off, and among other Purposeful Design Characteristics this will happen. The others that complained about this need to realize that this is something that will happen with a floating lid and panini press. It has a very easy fix. Just place a paper towel behind the machine; when you are ready to raise the lid and the oils will drip down on the paper towel. OR another option is to do like I did the first few times, just let it drip down behind. The designers did think about this and they put the cords and such off to the side so that they are not getting dripped on. So really the drip pan and the legs are the only things getting oil dripped on them and these can be cleaned easily without having to worry about the oil getting down in some crevice.
The plates attach and come off just easy enough to be convenient but still secure enough that you don't feel like they are just going to come off/fall apart. By being able to take off the plates it makes the clean up so much easier and you can actually get it clean verses just wiping it down. The plates are just light enough that they aren't bulky as compared to other ones. Again, I think its a nice happy medium, they are still going to hold up for a long time. The machine doesn't feel cheap or flimsy either. The plates have a good snap into place feel and the handle/lid seems pretty sturdy.
Overall I really like this machine. The plates come off for easy cleaning, the plates heat up and stays hot like they are supposed to, and it has a good price.

This is a nice product. The lid swivels/pivots which allows the heating surface to remain in contact with the food and create an even cooking. The unit has a light on the top that indicates when the unit is on although is pretty tough to read and tell if it is actually hot enough and pre-heated to start cooking on. The unit is a nice heavy unit, meaning that its not cheap and flimsy, but not too heavy to create a hassle to move and use. I opted for a larger unit and it is still not any larger than a George Foreman would be but feels more solid. The major downside is inability to remove the cooking surfaces to clean, plain and simple. This unit is very hard to keep nice and clean like new because of this. The only way to clean really is to turn the unit upside down on its back and clean the lid with a soft sponge and soap and then sit upright for bottom side. The nice shinny top looks great but all too easily scratches during this cleaning process. Yes I may be very particular but I like my brand new things to look new for as long as possible and to stay as clean as a new one. Also the lack of a drip collection system is a downer because you pretty much have to spray some sort of cooking spray on the cooking surfaces. When you open the lid, the spray will drip down the back side, getting your cords and counter all dirty. I think maybe an extra George drip pan would work in its place. Other than the non-removing surfaces and no drip container, it would be a nice 4.0-4.8 star product.
What's great about it: Swivel/pivoting top allows for even heat, nice and heavy (not light weight/cheaply made)
What's not so great: Unable to remove the cooking surfaces, no drip pan for juices etc
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very nice crock pot. The large size allows to make meals that will feed a family or last me for a long time. Not much else to say about it, although the drip handle/tool feature is good in thought but not really usable or practical. If you use it, the lid does hang into the pot for condensation to drip back into the pot but most of the time the crock will be fairly full and now you getting the lid down into whatever it is you are cooking.
What's great about it: Size, good and fair price, durable
What's not so great: The drip handle/tool
I would recommend this to a friend!
