This LG HDTV supports images up to 1080p. To build a complete 3D home theater system, we recommend you purchase 3D glasses designed for this TV, a 3D Blu-ray player, high-speed HDMI cable and an A/V receiver that is compatible with 3D products.

Great 3D bundle!

I picked up this bundle today when Best Buy had it on sale for $799 and could not be happier! I spent the last 3 days reading every review possible online (and there's a lot), before deciding to give it a shot and try it out for myself. First, let me tell you that it is replacing my 40" 1080p LCD as the primary tv for my bedroom, so I am quite familiar with good picture quality, but this blows it out of the water! I'll start with the picture quality: I have Directv hooked up with Full HD, and 3D content on a few of the channels, and it's totally amazing! The 2D picture is clean and has great contrast ratio (which i had a problem with with my old tv) . The 3D channels blew me away with how crisp and clear the images were. ESPN 3D had a football game on, and the other 3D channels had wildlife and prehistoric dinosaur shows on, so it was a great platform to showcase the tv's abilities. The football game was spectacular and felt like I was in the game, the scoreboard and stats were in the middle of my room, and the 3D players and action were great! As for the other shows, it felt like you could reach out and grab the creatures out of their element, with branches of trees and shrubs to the left and right of you, and menacing animals right in front of you, too cool! Right out of the box, the tv didn't need any adjustments to the picture, it looked so good from the get go, that I didn't feel the need to try and get it any better! (if that's possible...) I'm sure I will do some tweaking as time goes on, but for the 8 hours I spent on it today, none was necessary since it looked so good the way it came from the factory! Next up was the 2D to 3D conversion test. Simple enough.. Watched a few shows live and noticed the much better depth of the picture. Call it 2 1/2D. Then the real test, blu ray's of Avatar, The Thing (1982), The Dark Knight, and Tranformers 3. WOW! Definitely did not expect the 2D to 3D conversion to look as good as it did! Picture quality on the 4 movies I tested was great with no 'ghosting' like on many other tv's that I have seen. I've got some 3D movies on order, but I'm sure that they will look just as good as the 3D channels that I already get, so I'm not worried about that. The sound quality is average, like on pretty much all flat screens, but hey, who buys a 3D tv and plans on not going surround sound anyways?! Only small pitfall I found is that it does not have any RCA audio jacks (out), which seemed strange to me... but you can use other sources anyways, so no big deal...Overall, a definite A+ in my book, you will be really impressed with this bundle.
What's great about it: 2D/3D/2D-3D all look great, simple setup, price is unbeatable for he quality you get!
What's not so great: should have one more source for audio-out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm pretty sure that just about everyone on the planet has seen this movie at some point in time in the last 1/4 century, so I don't really need to review the film, because we all know it's a great flick.. This is one of those movies that you just have to have on blu-ray vs dvd. I was not let down! I've owned the dvd version for years, and after watching it on blu-ray I gave the dvd to my neighbor! The picture quality is great,(substantially better than the dvd version), the sound is awesome in 6.1 DTS, and it comes with digital copy! What more could you ask for? The special features are hours long, which is a plus for any movie, and it's all priced so low that it's a steal! This is a MUST for all who really want to feel the need... the need for speed!!!
What's great about it: Great blu-ray transfer, great picture and sound!
What's not so great: waiting 25+ years for a sequel... and still waiting...
I would recommend this to a friend!
