I am absolutely in love with this lens. If you are a portrait photographer, this is a must have. It's bokeh is creamy and gorgeous. It is tack sharp! You just can't beat prime lenses and this one is my favorite! It is very heavy though and since it doesn't have IS, a tripod is a must. If you have to spot handheld, you need super fast SS. I'm so pleased with it. And with best buy's quick delivery!

This camera is definately not for a beginner. If you are shooting in AUTO, don't waste your money. You should go with a beginner level DSLR. This is my second DSLR and I am completely amazed. I graduated from a Sony a300 to the Canon 7D. It was is a huge difference. The images are so much sharper. I have had trouble with the auto focus not wanting to focus where I need it. And it is slightly difficult to learn how to toggle the focus only using the manual. But, that is a very small issue. This camera is very heavy. You definately don't want to take this big thing on vacation. But it feels very sturdy.
The 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens is nice, but it is a kit lens... It is not the quality lens that a professional should be using. I will be upgrading to a f2.8 zoom lens when I can afford it.
The biggest downfall of this camera is the price. But if you are a photographer, you can just consider it an investment.
What's great about it: Picture quality, heavy feel, self cleaning sensor, features
