I was using a Canon 60D and just upgraded to the 6D yesterday. First impressions are excellent! Two days ago I did a photo shoot of a family with my 60D. It was overall successful with about 50% of my images as keepers. Today I used the 6D in a similar photo shoot and also took it to the zoo to test it. Out of 700 pics taken, ONLY 10-15 were not keepers. Unbelievable! Excellent colors, crisp focus, feels good in my hands.
I was considering the extra money for the 5D mark iii because of the auto-focus system, but decided to save money instead. I made the right choice. Even though it is only 11 point auto-focus it is extremely fast to focus. I was also able to focus in almost complete darkness accurately.
The noise with high iso is also acceptable. I took a pick of the same image with the full range up to 25600. I could hardly see any noise up to 5000 at all. It was even ok around 20000 (attached 2 photo examples of high iso in low light). It was very impressive. I can't wait until my next wedding!
I tried the wireless option on my Samsung Galaxy briefly. It works and is a nice option to have. I am not sure if I will be able to apply it to professional photography, but it does leave some options open.
Sorry- haven't hardly messed with the video yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!
