After few weeks this thing still smells like vulcanized rubber, acre, acid plastic smell, I might be on the sensitive side myself but I can't use it in my bedroom as planned. We live in an apartment so no backyard to let it air.. although I left it open when we are not at home for few days the smell is still too strong for me. Honestly the screen looks and works great, for the money it would be an incredible value. Don't buy if you can't stand breathing disgusting chemical fumes.

Not enough amps to charge an iPhone. Usb gives just a little power light up a led light maybe or a jurassic cell phone. It should be CLEARLY stated in the description

What's not so great: Dosen't charge your iPhone
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this just before Sandy via in-store pick-up. It really helped my stress level knowing it was there. We used the radio every night and left it in a sunny spot to recharge during the day. It's great knowing we have it as an emergency power source for cell phones if we really have to (though I would not look forward to turning the hand crank that much). The built-in LED is very bright. All-in-all, I highly recommend this for your emergency box for future storms.
