1-Year warranty, NOT 5-year, Unreliable

These are all the new 1-year warranty drives, NOT the 5-year warranty drives as the website claims. Not that a warranty means anything when you lose all your data, but the 5-year ones were MUCH more reliable. I wouldn't trust these for anything. Make sure if you buy one and the info online says 5-years, that the box says 5-years. Right on the top of the box it will be labelled. All the ones shipped now are not even the 3-year warranty drives, they say "1-year limited warranty." Run like the wind if they do!

I have 4 of these drives in operation ( 2 in part of a RAID 5 setup) and THIS particular drive has a 5 yr warranty. Barracudda in particular are mostly 5, a few are 3yr. sure you dont have a Momentus?

I stand corrected. I went yesterday to get two more 2TB to replace a failed WD 1.5Black and discovered that Seagate did indeed change the warranty. ended up with one 3TB Barracuda that still has the 5. I must have gotten some of the last of the 5yr 2 TB drives. my apologies.
