Stands well above other Portable ACs

Over the past 6 years we have owned 5 different brands of portable ACs. 3 are currently being used and 2 have met their maker.
We currently have a DeLonghi in our daughter's room that does a good job. The main benefit of this unit is that the cycling on/off is not so jarring it can wake her up.
In our main room we have a Royal Sovereign which is loud and clunky but does a decent job of cooling.
A portable AC rated at 10,000 BTUs is good for a medium sized room in a not very hot climate. We live on the coast in Los Angeles and this one does very well in a 12x15 room.
We just had a heat wave where the outside temp got up to 85 and the humidity was around 70%. This unit took a while to cool down the room in the evening but not that much longer than our previous, 12,000 BTU unit.
Another thing this was a good test of is how well it evaporates moisture. Too many units need to have the drip tray emptied after only a few hours of running in moderate humidity. We have not had to empty this one after almost 3 weeks and close to 100 hours of running.
Pros-
1-Nice control panel that lights up to touch and shuts back off after a few seconds.
2-A beep that is loud enough to hear but not so loud that it wakes up my wife if I need to change a setting when she's asleep
3-Cools very well for its rated BTUs
4-Decent looking and not too heavy
5-Came with everything needed for set up
Cons-
1- Display is a little too bright when it's on. It seems blinding in a dark room. But it does shut back off after a few seconds so it's not horrible.
2- It's just a little too jarring when the compressor turns on and off. Part of this is that the compressor and exhaust fan start and stop at the same exact time.
Our DeLonghi and our old Everstar both offset these 2 so there isn't as much of a sudden jolt on or off. Having said that, it is no where near as jarring as the Royal Sovereign in our main room.
Overall, I really have to sing the praises of this unit. It does a good job of cooling without making too much noise or taking up too much room.
I've had units that had to have a permanent drain hose, some that are way too loud to use in a bedroom but this seems like a very well engineered and built unit.
I am hoping to have this one for a long time.
What's great about it: Cools very well for its rated BTUs and has a nice control panel
What's not so great: Display is a little too bright when it's on, but it does shut back off after a few minutes
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fun but limited

First, I want to address the statement by the first reviewer about space requirements. The 4 foot radius is a recommendation but not a requirement in most circumstances. We have 6 feet between the front of our couch and the TV stand. So, when the board is in use it is 1 foot away from the couch and 3 feet from the TV. On the sides we move our 2 ottomans far enough apart to move on the board but neither of them are more than 3 feet away. With this set up we have had zero problems with board response or accuracy. As far as the board controller I think it is an awesome piece of technology.
As far as gameplay, I find it too narrow in what it allows you to do. I was hoping for more free play but it is very much about controlled situations to do different tricks. We don't play it as often as I expected because we get bored since we can't do what we're in the mood to do.
What's great about it: awesome technology
What's not so great: not enough freedom in the gameplay
I would recommend this to a friend!
