Been trying to decide between the new JBL charge 3 and this Xtreme. Watched a lot of comparisons on Youtube. Didn't want to spend the extra money for the Xtreme and went to BB to get the new Charge 3 after I made my mind up. I thought I did until I heard them in person. Xtreme was the way to go. No comparing the 2. For some reason the Charge 3 looked a lot smaller than it did watching it in Youtube videos. Got the Xtreme on sale for $249. Well worth the money. Sounds very good on low and high volumes. The bass stays "tight" and deep even on low listening levels.

Had a 5 year old Yamaha RX- V471 and could never get it to sound right. Constantly played with different settings. Been looking at this Denon for a few weeks. I didn't need or want the networking on the 700 model. So I got the AVR-S500BT. Set it up, and I'm very impressed with the sound of it. No more messing with everything trying to get the right sound. It sounds really good. It has that nice clear "warm" sound to it. Can't beat the price for the features and sound you get from this unit. Plus the bluetooth built in !

Extremely Impressed

I recently purchased a Pioneer vsx-820 and my old sub was not powered, so I was forced to start shopping for a new one. I dont know much about ohms or watts or anything else for that matter, What I do know is this Sub sounds totally awsome, and for the price, it cant be beat. My old system was a bose, but was not compatible with my new Plasma TV. So I kept the speakers, paired them with my Pioneer reciever and my new polk audio sub. I am 100% happy with my new Audio system! Although my neighbors may not be! LOL It sounds great and the bass it provides is clean and deep. if you pick this product I guarantee you will not be sorry..

Subwoofer Volume.

Wondering how you had this subwoofer hooked up to the pioneer VSX-820 ? I bought this subwoofer and took it back to BB. I have the Pioneer VSX820 and tried to hook the subwoofer up through the single rca cable that comes out from the reciver to the LFE right in on this sub. I had the volume on the sub and the sub settings on the Pioneer 820 set to +15 and the volume of the sub was still very low. Then I would have to turn the volume way up on the reciever to get the sub to sense a signal to turn on. I messed with it for a few hours and couldnt get it to sound loud. If I didnt have the volume on the sub turned all the way up I coulnt hear anything. Is yours the same way ?

Went on sale right after I bought it.

As I said in the title it went on sale on Monday right after I bought it on Saturday. The reason I bought this on was the model below it out of stock at the store. “We can order it,” is what you get when they don’t have one. Hint; I can order it. I just bought my first smart TV and blue ray/DVD player a short time before. I am tech savvy just not AV savvy so I had to reason my way through the setup. There isn’t a lot out there on how to hook up all the parts, but I got it after reading the labels and thinking it through it works. Now it’s fun with remotes.

Check with Best Buy. They had a policy if you bought something and it went on sale within 15 or 30 days they would give you the difference back .......
