Jimmyjamslam's Reviews

The long-awaited and much-anticipated next installment of the award-winning The Elder Scrolls franchise is here. Now, the expansive, open world that forever revolutionized the face of the fantasy epic leads you deeper into the combat, the magic and the myth than you've ever been before. This time, you don't just play as a character, you truly become whomever it is you wish to be — and have the freedom to do anything you can possibly imagine. This follow-up to the 2006 Game of the Year, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, offers stunning graphics and a gripping storyline that immerses you in the game from the moment you turn it on. Are you ready to unroll the Scroll and let the journey begin?Imagine rolling clouds, rugged mountains, bustling cities, lush fields and crumbling dungeons. Imagine ancient dragons beholding secrets so powerful they could transform your future. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim immerses you in the engrossing world of the franchise you already know and love with more realism, more choice and more intensity than ever before. Featuring a new game engine that brings every tiny environmental aspect to life in blistering detail and AI that brings you close to your allies — and your enemies — Skyrim blurs the line between your world and that of the game. An all-new character engine opens wider an already vast virtual world, putting every decision, every action and every consequence entirely in your hands as you arm yourself with hundreds of new weapons, abilities and spells. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, the creators of the 2008 Game of the Year, Fallout 3, this immaculate fifth chapter challenges your skills, immerses your mind and will forever change the way you view gaming. It's time to return. It's time for Skyrim.

this game was going along great til I downloaded the pacth for it. Now the game freezes up constantly and loading takes forever sometimes. game has pretty challenging until you start leveling up but fun enough that it is not frustrating. hopefully they make a patch to fix the last patch!
What's great about it: gameplay, graphics
What's not so great: patch
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was the first time I had ever tried installing agraphics card myself and was a little nervous doing so. I had just upgraded my power supply in preparation for this card to an Ultra X4 modular 600 watt. My computer case is a dell xps studio 7100 not a fancy gaming case. I took the card out of the box and was impressed by how big this card is. I uninstalled my old drivers from the ati 5450 first and then opened my case to put this new card in. It was a pretty tight fit and I had to attach the power connectors first before I put the card in because there is just no room for my fingers to get behind the card when it is already in the case. The card uses 2x6pin power connectors. Don't freak out like me when I realized I only had a 1x6pin and 1x8pin connector on my psu. I finally realized that my 8xpin connector cable could be converted to a 6xpin so I was ok. Just make sure you have the right cables. I went straight to evga website and downloaded their newest driver for the card and was gaming in no time. Mass Effect 2 is stunning, Witcher, Crysis, Metro 2033, Portal 2 all look fantastic. Card is totally silent the whole time. I have only had the card for a day so if anything happens to it I will definately update this review.
What's great about it: Easy install, runs silent, performs great!
What's not so great: Pricey
I would recommend this to a friend!
