First off, though the music is by Daft Punk, this IS NOT a Daft Punk album. Everyone need's to get over that. This is a movie score first and foremost, and a Daft Punk album LAST. So if you're looking for the latest and greatest Daft album here, keep looking because you're probably going to be just as disappointed as everyone else.
Now, the music on this album is great. Not being a Daft fan myself, I look at it in a completely different way from everyone else; as it should be, as a movie score. It's a good soundtrack to the upcoming film, without having seen the film yet. You can pick out a theme (which is rare in movie scores these days) and get a real sense of thematic and dramatic elements throughout just listening to the music.
Finally, if you own a MacBook of any incarnation, you're probably going to run into the same problem I have with this disc. The disc was run on a black-back disc, which myself and so many other Mac users have problems running. When the disc is inserted, it's spit back out within 30 seconds because it cannot be read. This makes it hard to import into iTunes. With a friend's help I was able to get the album imported, but this can take away from enjoyment or full use of this particular album.
What's great about it: Original Concept Score Collaboration, Nicely Themed Packaging and Disc
What's not so great: Black-Back Disc Won't Run In MacBooks
I would recommend this to a friend!
