I purchased on of these to help me keep an eye on a vacation home in another city. I was attracted to this brand and model because of the ability to get email alerts. It took a couple of tries to get it to connect to the Wi Fi at the vacation home, but once connected it has worked perfectly. The pictures and video it sends to my iPhone are great. My only criticism is that it is too sensitive and I occasionally get alerts that the camera detected motion when there was no one there.
Things to know: 1) If the camera detects motion you will get an email with two very clear pictures of whatever is in the camera's field of view. 2# You don't need the paid service to get the email alerts. Unless you want to store streaming video, I can't imagine why you would pay for the service. 3) If you want to disconnect the camera temporarily #such as while I am in the home) just unplug it. When you plug it back in it will automatically reconnect. 4) You are not going to get smooth motion video streamed to your iPhone. What you get is very good, but this is a consumer grade product streaming over the wifi in my second home. There are limitations in bandwidth that should be obvious.
In summary, this is a great product that performs as described for a bargain price. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 starts is the occasional false alert.
Sharp AQUOS LC-60LE650U LED HDTV: Enjoy an extra-large AQUOS screen, stream movies, videos and music, and surf the Internet on the included Web browser.
I bought this TV for a new second home we had just furnished and had just installed wireless internet u sing a Netgear n600 combination cable modem and wireless router. Our cable provider is Comcast. Every other device (laptop, phones and iPads) connected seamlessly to internet, but the TV would not. It could see the network, but it would not connect. I spent hours working at it before calling Netgear who spent a good 45 minutes working with me and finally satisfied me it wasn't a problem with their router. I then called Sharp (I should have called them first.# After trying again everything I had been doing for hours and then manually updating the software #downloading to my laptop and transferring with a flash drive# and doing a full reset of the system #required removing the TV from the wall which was no fun) Sharp also threw in the towel and said they could have a repair technician come out next week and take a look. No way was I going to have a technician come and repair a television that was literally brand new and defective right out of the box. I took the whole thing back to Best Buy who promptly took care of the refund and I walked out with a new Sony. I am VERY thankful I bought this from Best Buy.
The Netgear n600 Wireless Router with Built in Cable Modem worked flawlessly; as I have come to expect from Netgear. I highly recommend that product to anyone who accesses the internet through a cable provider and wants wireless in their home. Great product and always great customer support.
