While 'The Town' doesn't break any new boundaries, it takes a standard formula about a bank robbing crew and executes it perfectly. The action is raw, intense, and very realistic. The acting was good, but Jeremy Renner really shined in his part. Even the dark, moody soundtrack was perfect for building suspense.
That said, it could be criticized for having too many parallels to 'Heat', another great film about a heist team with Pacino and DeNiro.
Overall, if you're looking for a dramatic action movie that takes itself seriously, this will keep you on the edge of your seat.
