These headphones are like i stated in the title, the best of the best for $100. They bring more to the table than almost every other headphone below or around its price range. Many useful accessories come inside of the headphones along with many sizes of buds to fit any ear. The comfort of these is also great, they fit in your ear without causing pain, or feeling awkward in your ears even after long periods of time. Also the microphone and smart remote work very well, i tested them both and they function fine %100 of the time and the microphone allows you to speak clearly over any line. Now the real jewel of these headphones is the sound quality of these headphones. Perfectly balanced headphones, where the mids, highs, and lows are all perfectly defined and do not overpower . This is essential because it allows people to make adjustments with the equalizer to allow any type of music to preform at its full potential. The frequencies of the headphone are also very defined and clear, allowing clean and clear music for your listening pleasure. There is only one thing I have found bad about these headphones, they are built a little flimsy for the price you pay, but not to worry, unless your really hard on them, they should last you for a while. Overall, these are just what id expect from Sennheiser, great sounding, comfertable, and best deal for the price. They're is only one headphone that can maybe beat these out, and thats a big maybe. Trust me, get these and you won't be dissapointed.
What's great about it: Pretty much everything, except one thing
What's not so great: its slightly on the breakable side for the price

only one problem, but its something minor

Since most of you have come to read a review because of its sound quality i will start with that. After you burn these in (about 24 hours will do it, if you don't know what this is stay tuned for a little while longer) these headphones are going to astonish. The bass is the rich and defines, and guess what its very powerful, not to the point where it overpowers, but very powerful. Mids are clean have texture to them, nothing to get happy about, but they do the job that $100 headphones will do. One problem i had with these specific line of headphones is the highs, if you look at my review for the image s2 you'll notice i said that the highs were tinny and distorted. While they might have solved this problem slightly, they still haven't fixed it perfectly, its not sharp anymore but it is still kinda tinny. Overall the sound quality is as defined as, say, a $150 pair of headphones, easily beating beats by Dr. Dre, shure, sennheiser, and other major companies in sound quality up to that price point. now for those of you who don't know what burning in headphones is its basically when you put noise through the headphones at your listening level of music, this loosens up the drivers of the headphones much like how you loosen up a shoe right after it gets off the assembly line, if you do this you'll experience the magnificence i described earlier, but otherwise you'll experience horrible noise. Now for comfort, noise isolation, and fit. all of these are simply amazing, and its due to the oval shaped ear pieces , if you have these in, they will stay in and will block out a large portion of ambient noise. this is because the oval shaped ear pieces actually fit to your ear canal's actual shape. For what comes in the box, you get a tin case with room for the headphones, the three sizes of tips(S,M,L, and small/medium) and an earwax cleaning tool, which is necessary since it shows up very easy on the tips. The only problem these headphones have is the cable is rather thin, which makes it seem like it will damage the cord of the headphones rather easy, and this is quite disappointing for this price range since your entering the mid level price range of headphones. overall very good headphones, easily reccomend to everyone.
What's great about it: almost everything
What's not so great: cable size

Beats sound and comfort, but cheap build quality

These headphones are very good, they deliver beats quality sound for a much more affordable price, what i mean is that your getting beats studio quality sound for a much cheaper price. They have very powerful bass, but like i said in my studios review, it is a little more than i could take, but with an equalizer it can be changed to make it powerful but not overpowering. Mids are crisp and defined, but they do fall far behind the mids and highs, you will find out that these headphones were defiantly meant for rap, hip hop, but nothing that would really involve a guitar or something with mid frequency sound. Highs are surprisingly good, they are warm and rich, but can be sharp at times if the voice of the singer becomes very distorted with the use of audio equipment. Comfort is also a plus, since they are on ear headphones you have to take into consideration how much pressure is put on your ears, and these put very little on your ears, so they are very comfortable for long periods of time. only problem i have with the headphones is that they are made up of extremely cheap items, i took them out of the box and put them on my head, had to take them off once to make dinner, and put them on again to listen to some music before bed and when i took them off they snapped into three pieces!!! Once you get these headphones you will find out that they are meant to be the cheap version of the studios, because they took away all of the fancy gadgetry's and made all of the plastic cheap and easy to break. the box comes with a plush carrying case since these headphones fold up for minimun storage space taken up, and a replacable audio cable so that you can replace it if it breaks, but i doubt you could break the cable before the headphones do. Overall these headphones are just cheap and break easy, but if you absolutly need beats quality sound then go for it.

Since there isn't many IE headphones to compare this in the price range ill just compare them to some leading headphones in all categories. The comfort of these is decent, for the price you expect something that will stay in your ears and will not feel heavy. While these headphones do both, they do not compare anything to how good the bose ie2 headphones are(but thats a bad example since those have an entirely different design) and they fall horribly far behind the klipsch x5 and x10 not only in comfort but also in noise isolation. Which is another thing, these things do average job that all Ie headphones can do, but when you reach this price range it needs to do better. Now that the bad stuff is over ill go to durability, i mean these things come with a lifetime warranty to replace the headphones even if you break them, of course its only one time but that doesn't matter at all since they have amazing build quality. These headphones come with strain relief near the jack and headphones so the energy(and damage) don't hit the weakest point in all headphones, also the headphones are made of gold(which is metal, but its a soft metal) which can be a pro or a con depending on how you interpret it. These things also come with a nearly never-ending supply of tips, i count 10 different pairs of tips, and they come with two different carrying cases depending on how hard you would like the case. Also a quick start guide which i highly recommend reading since it really helps you find out how to take care of these expensive headphones. The sound quality is very, very good, rivaling cans at this price. The bass and mid bass(which is surprisingly present, as it isn't in a large portion of headphones) are deep, rich, and powerful, but it doesn't overpower the other frequencies, which is exactly what i was looking for in the bass(not as much bass as the beats though). The mids are great, very detailed and crisp, although it does lack when you enter very heavy shredding guitar solos. The highs are warm and rich, with incredible detail when listening to classical music. Overall they come with everything you could ever need for your life long durability period, and the sound quality is very defined in the bass, mid bass, mids, and highs, although it lacks a considerable amount when very guitar heavy songs come on. The only flaw is that comfort does not compare to ie headphones in this price range. I would say that these headphones tie klipsch's x5 and x10 model in sound quality, but they beat them in value for price and durability, but they lose to them in comfort.(i compared them to those IE headphones because the x5 and x10 are award winning headphones that are extremely praised in all categories)
What's great about it: sound quality, what comes in the package, durability and warranty
What's not so great: comfort is less than what is expected in this price range.

Meant for studio and for stereo use, not mp3 use

Seriously people, if your thinking about buying these headphones you must buy them for studio and stereo use, i'll tell you why in a few seconds. I'm just going to say that these headphones are just amazing with sound quality(if you use it with the right machines). The bass is very powerful, but is rich and defined without being overpowering to the other frequencies. Mid bass is great, not as good as the low bass, but better than the mids. The mids are a little lacking but your not going to notice because the bass and mid bass make up for it. The treble was just unbelievably clear and crisp without being sharp, which surprised me for bass intensive headphones. The reason why you cant use these with a mp3 player is because the mp3 player can not put out enough power to actually power these headphones, and if you do use them with an mp3 player you'll find that they are as bad sounding as skullcandy's. These just take up to much power for the mp3 player to sustain for more than 10 minutes, the mp3 player will put out as much as it allows itself to but no more, which really cuts back on the quality of sound. THe comfort is ok, it doesn't hurt but it sits slightly on the ear making it kind of awkward when compared to the studios. Also they are very heavy, but if your a tolerant person then you should be fine. Although this is huge improvement durability wise when compared to the studios, these headphones are very thick and durable, also made out of aluminum so you could throw them around(but why would you with such high priced headphones). I am kind of disappointed with what comes in the package with these headphones, i mean the carrying case is just a little pouch, nothing compared to the studios hard shell case. Also there is only one cord, but it is replaceable like always so you can fix it if needed. These headphones have a swivel design which replaces the mute button, i see this being much more useful for studio producers and for Djs since they need to know what people are saying while they listen to the music. Overall these headphones are very good compared to companies like sennheiser, in fact i would say these are much better than most of their headphones durability wise, but they are about the same sound quality wise and comfort wise. Kind of pricey but still better than most headphones for this purpose and in this price range.
What's great about it: Sound quality, durability, dj and studio features are perfect
What's not so great: not as high quality items included in package

skullcandy took a step back from titans

These headphones are in the $50 price range, but they are defiantly outperformed by other headphones in this price range, even by a few that are a lower price range. These headphones come with what all other headphones in this price range come with, the headphones with a 3.5mm gold plated jack, a carrying case(which is slightly annoying to have in your pocket compared to senn's cx300 or klipsch image s2), and a few different size earbuds, small medium and large. The style of these things is just a cut above the rest, they look very stylish and will turn heads, something that skullcandy has made constant in their headphones. Comfort is alright, it will stay in your ear decently well, not as good as most headphones in your price range, but better than the standard. The sound quality on these things is alright, i mean the bass is very powerful for earbuds, not as powerful as cans in this price range but still good. Now a big problem i see is that skullcandy completly ignored the mid bass, its non exsistant in these headphones. The mids are also defined but they are a little tinny, but other than that the mids are on par with other earbuds and cans in this price range. Now the biggest problem i see is the highs, the bass makes these just non exsistant, this problem has become a lot more constant as of recent with skullcandy. Durability wise, these are a huge step back from the titans, at least those have an alluminum housing and a braided alluminum cable, these have plastic everywhere making these a lot weaker. Overall, these are average in the price range, if you choose not to take my advice and look elsewhere to get the best deal then your just spending $50 that could be put to better use. Take a look at senn's CX300 ii for better sound, at skullcandys titan for a better duarbility headphones, and at klipsch's image s2 for better noise cancelation and comfort. I would personally reccomend the image 2, or the sennheiser cx300ii because they are just much better quality headphones than these, if you buy these your getting sony, pioneer, rocketfish, and JVC quality products(which are average and not the best you could get).
What's great about it: bass, mids, comfort
What's not so great: highs, mid bass, durability is below what skullcandy could have done,

I base my reviews entirely off of the price to performance, and with that said, these earbuds rival earbuds in the $150 price range. These earbuds come with 6 different sizes of earbuds(3 sizes of large medium and small with stay here tips and 3 sizes without), a carrying case that can fit in a pocket and also has enough room to fit a portable mp3 player. If you buy the IE2i model then you will have an in line microphone that functions better than monster's control talk. The reason I marked down on comfort was because they are slightly weird to put into your ears. These headphones are probably better health wise because they allow your ears to breath instead of clogging it up. Also these isolate noise decently well, i mean it cancels out normal sounds, like a T.V or something like that, but nothing as loud as a vacuum cleaner or hair dryer. These also have amazing durability, I have owned the first generation for around three years, and they still work like day one, and so far, these have held up just fine and aren't having problems anywhere. These headphones offer amazing sound quality, very balanced and defined lows, mids, and highs. If you use an equalizer you can easily boost up the bass or treble to a suitable point. Now I'm not going to say that these headphones are as bass heavy as the beats by dr dre, but they can get pretty close. These headphones are definantly better than all monster products that aren't the turbine pro or miles davis tribute. These come close to shure headphones, but the shure headphones are in the $150 price range. When compared to the klipsch image line, the headphones are dead even. Overall bose has done another amazing job with their headphones, but you might want to look elseware if you want to buy headphones with traditional earpieces, otherwise these will give you the best sound and durability for the cheapest price.

For this review i will compare these to the most popular headphones in this price range(around ear), the skullcandy hesh. Ill start with the cons since theres barely any. These do not come with a carrying case, so youll have to find another way to transport these, but it does come with a 1/4 inch adapter so you can plug this up to dj equipment( dont the hesh will do a much better job for djs) or into amps and studio equipment. The only difference is the hesh come with a bag. the other con is durability, and the only reason why is because it is entirely made of some sort of plastic, not very durable, but these headphones transfer energy very well so i wouldnt worry about them breaking, while the hesh are just about the same in this category. Now for the pros, comfort sound quality, and sound leakege/ canceling. Comfort wise, these will hurt your head, but its not as bad as the hesh, with slight pain around the ears these wont hurt to much, while the hesh will hurt your ears a lot. These dont leak sound and neither do the hesh, so i cant complain. These are similar to the hesh in noise cancelation as well, they block out more noise than the standard headphones as well. Now for sound quality, these are the best for their price range, they offer the clearest sound and also a very balanced sound. much less distorted than headphones at higher price ranges. in comparison to the hesh, they are better but not by a large amount. the hesh are more distorted sound wise so thats why these are better, but the mids are also a little weaker. in fact these headphones are the best in there price range(sound quality wise). overall these would be better for audiophiles, while the hesh would be for the more stylish personalty people. hope i helped.

Closest thing to perfection

During this review i will be comparing these to the beats studio headphones by dr. Dre, since they are in the same price range and are constantly compared to by many people. I will start with the worst part(trust me its acctually much better than it sounds) the durability. These have a replacable audio cable, and earpads, making these an very easy to replace broken parts. I still have only one problem with these bose headphones, and thats the thin headband. It seems flimsy but after 6 months these haven't even scratched. i wrote a review on the beats, but it is way off of durability, i wrote it only a month after i had them, and a month later they snapped into three peices, the two acctual headphones broke off from the headband, making those the worst pair of 300 dollar headphones i have ever bought. Its pretty even in comfort compared to the beats, little to say here. Ill talk about leaking sound next. THe beats leak sound HORRIBLY, i mean for less money skullcandy can make headphones that dont leak sound, now thats just sad when skullcandy can outpreform you. These dont leak any sound making these perfect for airplane rides. Oh and i almost forgot the noise canceling feature. these take two AA batteries so you can bring an extra pair around, and they cancel out all the sound(the beats do this too but dont cancel out as much sound). Your ears will be put to the test of how sensitive they are, these cancel out everything but your music, im not even kidding. Sound quality wise, these are as close to perfection as anything, with perfectly clear highs, lows , and mids. and for those of you wondering, the bass is just right and isnt overpowering, but the bass isnt as powerful as the beats, but these offer perfectly balanced sound, so get these if you listen to all types of music like me. Bose has now reset the bar, and it is as close to perfection as anything i have seen yet(for portable use anyways) and you can tell that bose used there many years of experiance and research all to make these headphones, if you plan to use these when you travel or for your ipod then go right ahead, but if your using these for audio equipment and stereos, then take a look at headphones made for that purpose.

Bose ae2 headphones is the most recent headphone by bose and it seems very similar to qc15 except without the noise cancelation and all the fancy gadgetrys. A similar detachable audio cable to the qc15's makes this an ideal headphone, but they have a very thin headband which makes me afraid for how much these could take damage wise. Comfort wise these are perfect, but feel slightly akward on your head. Sound quality wise these deliver very clear and clean sound, not as good as the qc15's but still good. THe sound coming out of these is very very balanced and that makes these an ideal headphone for anyone. The vocals on these is good but it does lack compared to the lows and highs, but nevertheless it is still good. Overall great entry level bose headphones, but still if youre considering a bose product the qc15's are the best headphone produced by bose, but if they are a little too exspensive or you dont want to spend that much on headphones these are the way to go.

perfect but minor problems for me personally
By mrhappyface from denver,CO
I must say you guys these headphones are a cut above the rest, they are litterally what i would call close to perfection in quality. Ill start with whats included, a sturdy carrying case to protect your headphones from damage(this case is to large to fit in a pocket, so bring a backpack), two audio cables, one with ipod/phone controls and one without. A plus to these is that if the cord breaks you can replace the cord not the headphones. Now for features, these headphones give noise isolating technology, and noise canceling technology to cancel out a large portion of the noise. These also do a above average of leaking noise, they still do leak noise just not a large amount. Unfortunatly these headphones require two 3aaa batteries to function, but the headphones dont drain too much power from the batteries. Also a button that will allow people to talk to you and for the music to stop. This button is useful but the music keeps playing while the headphones are muted, so you miss portions of the music. next up: durability, an extreamly durable headset that will most likely not break anytime soon unless your gonna be stepping on it. Comfert is also perfect, with no pain caused anywhere on the head, although they are a little bulky and can get heavy after a while. Now for the not so perfect thing: sound quality. These headphones are not bad at all, they offer perfectly clear mids, lows, and highs. The only problem i have is that i hear similar sound quality coming out of cheaper pairs of headphones, which is why the price for value is marked down. Another problem i have, and this is entirely personal headphones, and this is how powerful the bass is. One thing i must say, these headphones reproduce electronic sounds almost spot on, which makes these amazing for alternative music. Most might be saying, well if the bass is very powerful then why is it a problem, and i will tell you why. When an instrument gets to powerful it starts to make the music sound un-natural depending on what type of music is bieng played. Unfortunatly these headphones, to me, have to much bass, but only a few genres(in specific rock, metal, reggae, and jazz) other than that you will see amazing quality coming out of these headphones. Overall, not best sound quality(pricewise), but still offers amazing sound quality, with that you also get a boatload of feature, detachable audio cables for longer lasting headphones, and amazing sound canceling features with noise isolation, with semi perfect comfort of course.

few changes to the review
December 16, 2010
Hey sorry guys, just noticed i had a few typos and another 2 months with these headphones revealed a little more about them. First where it says 3AAA batteries i accidentally typed 3, it should be 2, second the noise cancelation is much better than i thought it was, but it leaked a lot more than i thought it did. I was using these in a workplace environment where people were loud and they couldn't hear anything that was leaked out of the headphones. When i got on a plane i noticed they completely canceled out the noise of the engine which is good, but a person behind me and next to me was constantly tapping my shoulder to turn it down, i had it on my ipod with maybe 20% volume before nothing was heard by people around me. Third, i had to take these headphones back once due to damage on the headphones cracking on the headband, i thought id give them another try, but i would be a little more careful with them. I was much more cautious with the second pair by always putting it in the carrying case when i was done and not pulling to hard when putting them on, couldn't be happier, in other words, as long as your careful with them they will hold up. Now regarding my sound quality issues, i noticed that if you use a bass reducer or some sort, you can get it to much better and suitable preferences for your tastes. Noticing that i didnt really give a full review on the sound quality i will just say that these offer very clear sound, as little distortion as possible, and after thinking about it again these do beat(pun intended) all other headphones in price range that AREN'T intended for studio use(as in they have a 1/4 inch plug instead of a 1/8 inch plug. Again sorry about the typos and hoped i help clear up any confusion.

For around $100 theres maybe 2, the Klipsch S4 i've tried recently and have to add those, and the other one is the Bose IE2, I tried not to put it into the review, but those are other great choices. If you chose one and you won't be disappointed, they are all great, they're only different in personal preference, if you can try them out before you buy them.

Skull candy over the ear headphones for mowing?

Ok so are the skullcandy snoop dogg skullcrusher headphones a good pair of over the ear headphones to mow with? I dont want to have my music all the way up to hear it, and i dont want to hear the mower.
for mowing id reccomend some sort of noise cancelation headphones, the cheapest ones that will do the job at that price point is going to be able planets. The skullcrushers are a good pair of headphones with very good sound quality, but they don't cancel out any other noise than what they physically do and you'll be able to hear the mower which in turn means that you will have to turn up the volume in order to hear the music to block out the mower. Noise cancelation headphones are specifically made for the purpose your considering them for, so id take a look at them

is sony in ear head set compatible with zune mp3 32 gb..please advice as i am planing to buy one. or is there any other in ear eg bose compatible...pleae advise.
as long as your zune has a 3.5mm(1/8 inch) headphones jack then both of them will work with it. As far as i know Zunes are built with a headphone jack like that, but you can get more info from their website, but i think its safe to say that you can buy them and they will work with them.

Should i get the Beats Studios or the Beats Pro?

i listen to music on a daily basis, my friend has the studios and i asolutely loooove the SQ, but now tht the Pros came out i dnt know which one to get, i also have heard tht the pros SQ is bttr than the studios, is tht true?
In simplest terms the pros offer the better noise, but you need to use it with something that can acctually power them, as in a stereo, dj equipment, studio equipment, etc. If your thinking about using them for use with an ipod then the studios will give you better sound quality.

why are the beats headphones so expensive?

They are high quality headphones, they offer more than your standard headphones come along with( as in sound quality, comfort, and under heated debate, the quality of items used to build the headphones) the better the headphones get the more exspensive they are going to cost. in other words to answer the question, because they are a high quality item and is sold as such.
