One of the Best Sequels Ever... Period

This is one of the best sequels ever released. It expands the world of the first game in all the right ways by expanding the combat system with new abilities while maintaining everything fans loved in the previous installment. The game will make you want to utter the words "I am Batman" in your growliest voice possible.

One of the Best Games Ever... Period

This is one of the best video games ever released. It's an amazing Batman story and features an incredibly fun combat system. One of its greatest strengths is the way the world expands an the story progresses with new areas of the asylum opening up as you progress.

"Tomb Raider" is franchise that was struggling for years to create a game that fans would like. When first launched back in the 90's the series was well received for its strong female lead and fun gameplay but the series quickly became plagued by rehashed story points and gameplay so it was time to hit the reset button on the franchise. The reboot reimagines the character from the ground up, giving us an origin story to how Lara Croft became the hard edge adventurer we know. The gameplay is for the most part very solid (though sometimes it relies on QTE a bit too much). The strongest component though is its killer story that will keep you engaged.

Elsewhere, Margaret (Kelly Macdonald) struggles with issues of faith as her marriage to Nucky disintegrates, and Gillian (Gretchen Mol) fights tooth and nail to establish herself as a successful brothel madam in the aftermath of her son's death.

An Excellent Blu-Ray Release of An Amazing Season

Boardwalk Empire Season 3 is the culmination of the storylines that drove the first two seasons of the show. Almost from the beginning of the show, Boardwalk Empire was building to a full blown gang war and that is what is presented this season as Nucky Thompson faces his deadliest threat yet. If you are a fan of period gangster films such as the Untouchables this is the show for you. HBO does a great job with their presentation as well. Included in the set is the season presented on Blu-Ray Disc as well as DVD and both Ultraviolet and iTunes Digital Copy. You literally get every possible way to watch the season with this release. It's well worth the price tag.

Hellboy is some of Guillermo del Toro's best work. If you liked Pacific Rim check this out. This is del Toro paying homage to another one of this personal obsessions, the comic series Hellboy. The story is fun, the effects are amazing as is the acting. The disc looks and sounds great too. Definitely give this one a chance.

The King of All Horror Franchise In A Single Box

Lets just start with the obvious, if you are a fan of Slasher films you MUST own this. This release caters to the fanboys. Picture Quality is good throughout the set as is audio quality. Special features for most of the films are great but the middle films are adequate and some out right skimp. Actually the middle films in the franchise get doubled up on the discs even leaving little space for special features. the packaging is amazing as is the book excerpt and the counselor patch just made me laugh. You can tell a lot of time and energy was put into make this release worth it for the fans. So if you are a fan and don't own this on blu-ray yet buy it now, you won't regret it.

A Horror Classic With Subpar Home Video Treatment

"The Omen" is one of the scariest and greatest horror films ever made. Not only is it an excellent film though, it also features an extremely well written script (something that is a rarity in horror). Even though it was made 30 years ago is still just as terrifying today as it was the day it was released. The video and audio presentation on the three original films is acceptable and the remake is exactly what I would expect for video/audio presentation from a 2006 film. The set includes the original film, its two sequels and the aforementioned 2006 remake, marked in the set as The Omen 666 to avoid confusion with the original film. The special features are bare-bone and the case it comes in is a joke. It's all cardboard and oversized for a usual Blu-Ray case so if your shelves are spaced to Blu-Rays like mine are it won't fit. But what you do get is not only one of the greatest horror films ever made but its two sequels that are shockingly good. The remake is too faithful to the original so it feels somewhat pointless but if you prefer a flashier version with a stellar contemporary cast that rivals the original film for talent than give it a shot. In the end if you are a fan it is most definitely worth the purchase.

Hot Fuz is one of those movies everyone needs to see at least once. It's a fun film with a surprisingly refreshing and original take on the buddy cop film (much in the same vein as Shaun of the Dead was to the Zombie film). It has everything from the quirky British humor to intense chase sequences and a really compelling mystery to solve along the way. The set comes with a DVD copy as well as an iTunes digital copy and ultraviolet. To top it all off you also get a spiffy steelbook case with some great cover art. Definitely a must buy for any Simon Pegg/Edgar Wright fans.

A Utterly Unspectacular Horror Romp

On paper Van Helsing has A LOT of things going for it. It's a horror film that throws back to Universals roots with their horror classics starring the insanely talented Hugh Jackman. Unfortunately the sum of its parts do not add up to a strong Horror outing in this place. The quirky comedy that made Stephen Sommers' Mummy films a fun ride fall flat in this Vampire tale that also includes Werewolves, Frankenstein and even Dr Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde. The ideas of the film are too ambitious for the time the film was made so many of the visual effects feel half backed a decade after the films original release. Universal's hope was to create a homage to the Horror classics they made some 70 years prior but the inclusion of so many of these characters makes the film feel overcrowded. In the end if you are a die fan of classic horror this will be a fun ride but the casual fan just may not get what the filmmakers were trying to do.
