THE Best Blu Ray 3D Movie you will Ever see.

What I love about this movie is how they use realistic occurences to depict a fictional story. Instead of placing a "magic portal" that leads to the center of the earth, they used lava tubes as a realistic way to get there, which lends to the idea that it could be possible. This is mainly why I feel Journey To The Center of The Earth had "Epic" implications. The problem is, the film is too short to earn this prestigious word in its review. My saying is: 2hr+ movies are not always Epic, but Epic movies ARE always 2hr+. Avatar, Batman Begins, King Kong and Transformers are all 2 1/2 to 3 hours long. If Journey offered an extra half hour of "the world inside the world", I could possibly add it to this elite list of movies I consider "Epic".
I had the anaglyphic 3D version of this movie before watching the Blu Ray 3D version, and I'm happy to say that it's exactly the same without the red and green outlines. Because anaglyphic 3D effects are usually much better than anamorphic, this means you get an outstanding Blu Ray 3D experience and don't have to wear red and green paper glasses. No other Blu Ray 3D movie offers the kind of in-your-face effects that this one does.

What's great about it: Remnants of anaglyph. (See Below)
What's not so great: Too short.

Great Movie, Average 3D.

I found this movie to be quite enjoyable, despite never having read the book it's based on. From an average movie collector's point of view and being just another random fantasy flick, John Carter is an awesome experience with nice effects and a fairly interesting story. I can't say anything in the way of accuracy though.
The 3D, on the other hand, could have and should have been better. It's not bad, but, with so much CG, this movie should be at the top, even above Journey 2, as one of the best 3D experiences to date.

3D Experience: 3 of 5
What's great about it: Entertaining.
What's not so great: Should have better 3D effects.

One of the best 3D experiences I've had yet!

I loved this movie! Great visuals, good plot and descent acting combined with some of the best 3D I've seen on Blu Ray. Overall, it's a very entertaining experience, though it was a bit too short. It also seemed to be a little too kid friendly at times. Nonetheless, this movie is a great addition to my 3D collection.

What's great about it: Very fun to watch.
What's not so great: It's only 1hr. 20 min. long.

Much better than 300 but not as good as Clash of the Titans. I found this movie to be pretty enjoyable to watch. It features some pretty outstanding visuals and the plot is satisfying despite the typical -lowly peasant falls in love with an insanely hot chick and saves the world- cliche.
The 3D aspect in this movie could have put it over the top considering the visuals it presents. Unfortunately, I didn't notice any spectacular 3D moments, so I have to chalk this one up as just another average 3D experience.

What's great about it: Story and visuals.
What's not so great: 3D effects are in shorter supply than I'd like.

Just what I needed.

I use it in...:Small home
I bought this to replace a 56 Mbps Netgear router that would drop the signal every half hour, so I needed it to be reliable above all else. At any time I could have an Xbox 360 and up to 3 laptops running simultaneously. When I'm playing Xbox and someone turned on a computer, I would immediately be kicked off Xbox Live with my old router. Even when I'm the only one home, I would still get disconnected. I've had this new Belkin for about 3 months and, not only can I run every device in my house at once, but It's only dropped my connection 3 times.
What's great about it: Reliable

Not as good as I'd hoped.

Judging from the previews, I knew not to expect much from this movie even though I did see some potential. The overall concept was solid, but the plot never really got off the ground. Story-telling mistakes and lack of substance really hold back any sense of emotion or suspense. The 15-minute climax was nothing more than a desperate attempt to stretch the film past the 1-hour mark.
The 3D aspect doesn't help this movie at all because there's so little to see. They had tons of oppurtunity to add some gripping 3D effects to keep the viewer intrigued, but they let almost every chance slip by. As a result, you get an uninspired film that couldn't be saved by the 3D gimmick.

What's great about it: Nothing.
What's not so great: Too many missed oppurtunities. Predictable.

Not as good as the first three but still a good addition to the series. Even though the 3D isn't great, I still enjoyed what it has to offer. All in all, this movie is worth keeping in my collection and the little bit of 3D it features is just an added bonus. It might not be worth upgrading your 2D version though.

Alice in Wonderland was actually pretty fun to watch. It looks great and the 3D is wonderful. I really bought this movie just to see how good the 3D was and planned on selling it afterwards. I ended up liking it enough that I'm going to keep it in my collection. For a 2D conversion, this is a great 3D movie. In fact, it's the best 3D exerience I've had, aside from Transformers 3.

I just don't understand why they felt compelled to make the "Real World" transition with The Smurfs. Garfield and The Chipmunks could get away with it because the cartoons actually took place among humans. If the whole movie had taken place in the Smurf Village, I would have given it 5 stars and it would have offered more and better 3D moments. The film does feature a nice handful of In-Your-Face effects though.

I was a little suprised when I finally watched Thor in 3D. I'm not a comic junkie so I wasn't expecting much out of the plot or the characters. As with 90% of the films available in 3D, I'm mainly looking for the 3D experience. Thor, as a movie experience, actually turned out to be pretty enjoyable for me. Unfortunately, the 3D aspect had the opposite effect. I'm suprised at how little of a presence 3D effects had in this movie, considering how much of it was made with CG. About 70% of the movie has that extra sense of depth, but there are only a few really good 3D moments.
All in all, I feel Thor is one of the better superhero movies made by Marvel. Even though they should have done more with 3D, I will still watch it again.
Film Experience: 4 of 5
3D Experience: 3 of 5
What's great about it: Better than most other Marvel movies.
What's not so great: Very few eye popping 3D 3ffects.
