My New Favorite Game

I played Uncharted 2, and loved it. When I heard of Uncharted 3, I couldn't wait for the release date.
I played through the campaign, and it was extraordinary once again. The gameplay is challenging if you choose it to be, the random treasures are fun to find, the puzzles are not hard, but make you think at times, the graphics and voice acting are outstanding, and there are a lot of awesome and epic moments that will make your jaw drop.
The online play is fun, and a change of pace from FPS like Call of Duty. The additional climbing that you can do in this game make the maps much more dynamic, and give you a lot more strategic options.
This game is a good enough reason alone to get a PS3.

Great PS3 exclusive; R3 should be excellent

Fall of Man is obviously an older game, so the graphics aren't as good, and the gameplay seemed to me more like a PS2 game. But Resistance 2 is a very good game. The story was a little short, but good nonetheless. Many people compare these games to Halo, but I would say they are more like Gears of War. The stories are essentially the same, just with different spins. The graphics are very good for its time, and surprisingly stunning in the cinematic parts. This game has some epic parts, and some intense firefights, but the big "bosses" were too easy. Getting through some of the firefights were more difficult than the last "boss". After playing Fall of Man, I wasn't sure I would get R3, but I am really looking forward to it now. These games give a good background to what will happen in R3, and for some more info check out the PSP Resistance game (set between Fall of Man and R2). The multiplayer was terrible when I played it, but I ended up getting the game used a month or two before the release of R3, just so I could see if it was worth the money to get it, so there really weren't many people playing it online.

very nice speakers for $30

I got these speakers for my laptop, and have hooked them up to my TV as well. The sound quality is great, and they look very sharp. The bass isn't much, but it's better than stock speakers on a computer or TV. Don't expect them to sound like a full surround sound system. These speakers are excellent if you're looking to add a deeper, more resonant sound.
What's great about it: sound quality, looks sharp, separate volume controls for system and bass, price
What's not so great: I would have liked more bass, but what these have is more than enough; lots of wires that get tangled.

EPIC GAME. MUST OWN.

I had a lot of fun with Killzone 2, and thought this game would be worth buying. One thing I didn't like about KZ2 was that it's a little sluggish with it's controls. In KZ3, the controls are much more responsive, and has a similar feel to Call of Duty.
The story in this game is intense, and has some epic landscapes and images. It could have been a little longer, and I wish there was more diversity in the type of mission. The only notable mission that wasn't non stop shooting and explosions was the stealth mission in the jungle.
The multiplayer is absolutely amazing. Definitely in competition with Call of Duty, Black Ops and MW2. I actually prefer Killzone to Black Ops, and MW2 is pretty even. I wish there were a few more maps, especially for Guerrilla Warfare (team deathmatch).
This game is awesome, and one of the best PS3 exclusives out there. The only one I would put above this is Uncharted. This is a must own for any PS3 owner.
What's great about it: Multiplayer, graphics and landscapes, intensity, story
What's not so great: depth of game (story, not many multiplayer maps)

My parents just bought this for our desktop computer to replace the dying original mouse. It's very nice. The wheel works great, and the extra side button is very convenient. I am definitely getting this for my laptop.
What's great about it: great mouse. Nice scroll wheel, extra side button, customizeable, portable, price.
What's not so great: feels small if you're used to a full size mouse, but easily adjustable.

great racing game
on December 28, 2010

I had Need for Speed (Carbon and Underground) and Gran Turismo 4 for PS2, and decided it was time to get a racing game for PS3. I got this because I found it's type of racing more entertaining compared to GT's more realistic style. Both games have outstanding graphics, but I would say GT has just a little edge. This game is tons of fun, with great cars and a great online game. However, one thing I didn't like is the customization, or lack there of. My previous NFS games had lots of customization opportunities. Hot Pursuit, however, only goes as far as selecting between a few pre-made paint jobs. I would've liked to see some old school muscle cars as well.
Basically, the decision between NFS Hot Pursuit and GT5 comes down to what type of racing game you like better. Arcade, or Simulator?
What's great about it: graphics, fun, play as the cops, online, GREAT cars.
What's not so great: no customization, a little easy.

Deserves Game of the Year

This is hands down my favorite game for PS3. Xbox can have Halo and Forza. As long as I have Uncharted, I'm happy.
-The campaign mode is phenomenal, exciting, challenging at times, and hard to stop playing. The story ranks up there with the Assassins Creed Franchise.
-The graphics are among the tops for console games
-The multiplayer is surprisingly fun and exciting. It's not CoD Modern Warfare 2, so if you're expecting something like that, temper your expectations. It has it's own charm. I personally like the money system for unlocking gun upgrades, skins, and "boosters" (much like perks in CoD).
Overall, I think Uncharted 2 is an absolute must have for all PS3 owners. Hands down the best PS3 exclusive game, and would be worth switching from Xbox to PS3 alone.
Can't wait for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception!
What's great about it: campaign is awesome, graphics, multiplayer, high re-play value.
What's not so great: nothing for me

Ubisoft does it again

I absolutely loved Assassin's Creed 2, and just had to get this game. Thus far, I've been thoroughly impressed with the improvements that were made in only a year. The graphics are once again outstanding, the fighting engine is much improved, the economy actually means something now, you can ride your horse in the city, and of course it has the trademark awesome story you get from any Assassin's Creed. There are some glitches however, most notably when fighting on staircases.
You may think that only being able to explore one city will be a bummer, but I promise, Rome will not disappoint. It's absolutely huge, and you won't run out of things to do.
One other thing I've been impressed with in both this game and it's predecessor, is the attention to detail. Not only in the graphics, but the facts they supply about historical landmarks. This game is almost like taking a Renaissance Italy History Class with all the information it supplies.
What's great about it: Graphics, length, freedom, compelling story, improved on AC2. It has a multiplayer, but I haven't played it yet.
What's not so great: the occasional glitches

Amazing

My only question is: Why isn't this as popular as Call of Duty?
What I've played in the campaign has been awesome, but I haven't played through all of it. I decided to try out the multiplayer and never went back. The maps for multiplayer are absolutely huge compared to Modern Warfare 2. Sniping in this game is incredible. Vehicles also add another level of awesomeness to the multiplayer experience. However, the matches don't seem as fast paced as MW2's. That's probably because of the maps being 5 or more times bigger, on average.
The language is extremely profane, but very comical if you listen to it.
What's great about it: Graphics are the best I've seen in a FPS, comical, multiplayer, map size, very realistic.
What's not so great: The vehicles in multiplayer can get annoying and seem unfair if you don't have anyone to take them out.

Definitely one of the better FPS games for PS3, but not the best. Of course, I bought it a month before the price drop, and was a little disappointed it wasn't better than Modern Warfare 2. But for $30, this game is a great deal.
The campaign is fun, and a decent length. The AI is kind of stupid, but they can take a lot of bullets, making it a little more difficult. I didn't really get some of the story though. Maybe you need to have played the first to understand it better. It seemed kind of like a "go here, kill them, go there, blow that up" game.
Online is fun, but can't compete with MW2.
Overall this is a great game. In my opinion it is right below Call of Duty and Resistance for best PS3 FPS franchise. Hopefully KillZone 3 is awesome.
What's great about it: fun, good graphics, good variety of unique weapons
What's not so great: controls are a little awkward, but that can be adjusted.
