Is an extended warranty available for these headphones?
A lot of people love these, but some people say the quality just isn't there and that sometimes they break right around a year after purchase. Also, some have said that Bose doesn't do a good job of standing behind their products. So do you offer an extended warranty to help deal with that sort of problem? How well does Best Buy stand behind the product?
I'm a huge fan of Bose products, and their customer service. I've never owned something of theirs that they haven't stood behind. I've ready numerous reports of people taking in broken QC3 headphones, and getting a new pair of QC15's for a very good price (long outside of warranty). That said, I've purchased the Geek Squad protection plan on my headphones from Best Buy as well. It's $39.99, I believe, and it's a 2-year replacement plan.
I've used it already once when I broke a pair of QC15's (totally my fault) - and I just went in to the store and left with another pair. If anything, it keeps you safe for the 2 years, and then after that, Bose technical support/service is usually pretty good about working to keep its customers happy.
