Best show ever on a premium channel

The visual contrast between the darkness of Dexter's secret life and and the gloss of Miami adds an almost surreal quality. The ultimate serial killer stalking other serial killers. The show has its twists and turns but you know who is always one step ahead Dexter. The first six seasons were awesome season seven and eight fell off a bit. Some didn't care for the ending I enjoyed it. If somehow you didn't watch it you need to.

Not just another horror movie

I'll admit I like torture films and in Carrie there are different types of torture. Carrie is an abused teenager with a void where her self-esteem should be. Her mother is a whacko religious nut who likes to violently throw Carrie around for imagined sins and lock her in the closet for days on end.
Carrie is not so much a horror film as it is a psychological one.
High school misfit Carrie finally has enough and unleashes her telekinetic fury on her tormentors.
Although the movie was made in 1976 it can still be enjoyed today.
Nowadays, we have literal truck loads of books on how to deal with our tormented teenage daughters. Is this movie the reason those books were written?

Christian Bale is awesome

When I first watched the film I didn't know what to make of it, but now I understand the film much better. This film is must viewing, it brings out the truth about today's world - Nothing but material values matter, we live empty lives, we think empty thoughts, we are empty people, life is boring.
Bale plays a wealthy banking executive is haunted by an alter-ego which he hides from his co-workers and friends but gets trapped further down into his own imaginations and horrifying fantasies.
This movie is a truly terrifying depiction of the American public's mental state.
I think you'll either love it or hate it.
Somehow if your not a Bale fan you will be after this performance.

Zombie movie better than expected

"World War Z", despite involving zombies, plays more to the likes of a disaster film instead of a zombie film. It's more of like "2012" than "Resident Evil". We see shots of cities tumbling down to the rule of zombies and the world slowly turns into a zombie wasteland. The zombie attacks are large-scale, grand, and extremely exciting, save for the climax which ends up as a small-scale sequence, but is equally satisfying.
It's far from perfect, it's heavy on action sequences, and it's uneven, but "World War Z" is an extremely fun ride for everyone to enjoy

The crew worked well together and the movie, though still fresh in my head, was very enjoyable. I wouldn't go out to say it's the best Hangover of them all, but I also wouldn't say it was the worst. This movie was full of hilariously awkward scenes this Hangover gets a 4/5 rating from me.
It's a movie you're going to want to go see, and a movie you won't mind spending a few bucks on. If you're easily offended, you'll hate this movie (even I thought they pushed the limit on a few of their jokes in this one, but hey, it's an adult comedy).
It'll definitely be another movie that you'll be quoting the one-liners for quite a while

"HOLLOW MAN" is an entertaining movie, period.
Kevin Bacon stars as a eccentric scientist who, along with a team of collaborators, discover the way to make animals invisible. Now his mission is to make them visible again. There are scares and chills and the movie moves at a nice pace. The ending is a bit abrupt, but despite this, HOLLOW MAN is still worth watching.
Hollow Man 2 -
The story and plot of this sequel is so bad that it shouldn't have been made. This movie is an absolute insult to the first one.
If you like to watch movie sequels I can't recommend this one. If you do watch it don't expect the same experience as the original.

Classic Horor box set

The Omen-
THE Omen as one of the best horror movies from the 1970s.
It should also be pointed out that these types of tragedies do happen in life and there's a rational explanation with no supernatural causes involved.
I will admit that the movie wasn't as good as I remembered it.
Omen II-
this film contains all of the chills of the original as Damien learns about who he really is. It has one thing that I particularly liked that moment of indecision, when Damien, in a mirror of Jesus asks himself, why is it me. The moment when whatever innocence is in him is finally lost.
If you like the first one this is a must see.
Omen III -
It's incredibly rare to find a sequel, much less the SECOND sequel, to be so good.
I suppose it's very upsetting in places, since Damien is now an adult, in change of the Ambassador position after all this time, but even so, the film is very powerful, and very moving.
Once again, the "Omen" series flourishes.
The Omen 2006 - Remake of the original
"The Omen" is solid as a rock and very faithful to the original. So faithful in fact, that one has to wonder what was the point of making a remake.
If I realized anything watching this movie it's how amazing the script was in the first place. It builds up perfectly, it's thrilling as hell and there are no plot holes to be found.
The only reason to watch this film since its just like the first is if you want to see how technology with camera work has improved.

Sensationally over-the-top splatter party

Wizard of Gore -
a self-acclaimed illusionist genius who butchers girls from the audience live on stage but has them return to their seats again in one piece. A young reporter, who's always dragged along by his girlfriend to see magicians shows, discovers that the girls turn up dead after all and their corpses are damaged exactly like they appeared to be on stage. It's rather curious how you never grow tired of the way Lewis displays the gore in his movies!
The Gore, Gore Girls-
The movie tends to be tedious in between all of its outrageous highlights. It's certainly sleazy enough: the story has a series of go go dancers being mutilated in unspeakable ways by a demented killer.
There are slit throats, head mutilation, boiling a face in oil, and the piece de resistance, the slicing off of nipples which results in a flow of milk from one breast and chocolate milk from another.
Classic vintage exploitation / horror .
What's great about it: 70's horror
What's not so great: The acting is bad but they tried

The plot, in short: Three backpackers, two Americans and one Icelander, does Europe by train with two major goals: To get high and nail as many women as possible. In Amsterdam they accidentally learn of a hostel in Bratislava, Slovakia where mad women thirst for men in general, and American men in particular. They of course decide to go there and at first it seems the rumors were true. But they soon learn that the hostel is nothing more than a front for a bizarre club, where people can pay a huge fee to get to perform unspeakable acts
Hostel Part 2, however, offers nothing original. Instead, it robs from various horror films of old. For example, the opening scene mirrors that of Friday The 13th Part 2. In another scene, as I watched a female club-member bathing in the blood of her "purchase", I couldn't decide which vampire film the scene reminded me of most, there are so many. It was at the ending that I actually let a laugh slip. The foiled attempt at irony was followed by a scene reminiscent of "Blood Sucking Freaks". "Hostel" provided solid potential for a redeeming sequel, but instead, "Hostel Part 2" ended up being nothing more than a compilation of already tried and over used gimmicks

The stories aren't waterproof but remember movies are for entertainment.
If you want a factual movie watch the History channel.
Temple of Doom may not be as good as Raiders, but it doesn't deserve all this negative flak. The story is a little darker but that doesn't take anything away from the film. It makes the situation that much more dire. John Williams' score infuses the sacrifice sequence with a sense of building dread. The chanting, the heavy drums all building into a wild climax of heart burning and lava filled mayhem. The mine car chase is wild fun and Indy's bridge manuver is one hell of a climax. Still don't know why everyone's so down on this movie.

Skip it, unless you want to spend an evening going, "Seriously?!?" and "Really?!?" for 85 minutes. If it's low-budget gynecological horror you want, rent "Teeth" instead. It's disgusting AND clever.
