Rock Hudson stars in this frothy romantic comedy as filthy-rich American Robert Talbot. Talbot owns an Italian villa, where he traditionally stays only one month out of the year (September), but when Talbot suddenly decides to show up in July, Talbot's major overseer Tony (Walter Slezak) is shocked out of his skin to see him -- it seems that Tony has turned Talbot's villa into a hotel for the remaining eleven months of the year. But it's July in Italy, and love is in the air, and Talbot becomes distracted by the beautiful Lisa (Gina Lollobrigida) and soon he is trying to prevent her from marrying another man.

A Great Movie!

My favorite Rock Hudson movie, I enjoy the ones with Doris Day but this one is very funny. Rock Hudson's character owns a villa in Italy and only visits once a year. He returns before his usual September stay and chaos happens. His house staff have turned his house into a hotel. It is very funny and a great movie with Gina Lolobrigida and Sandra Dee. A Must See for any classic movie buff.

One of director Howard Hawks' late-career efforts comes to DVD in a sharp, economical package. Universal's disc boasts the film's original aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and transfers the original print's mono sound to 2.0 Dolby Digital presentation. Though short on features, the disc does provide the original Man's Favorite Sport trailer, as well as subtitles and closed-captioning.

This is one of my favorite Rock Hudson movies. Filled with zaney antics and a funny plot, it is sure to please. Roger is a fishing expert who has never fished a day in his life. He is entered in a fishing tournament and tries to learn to fish. Very funny.
What's great about it: Funny Plot

Norman Taurog directs one of Elvis Presley's sillier star vehicles, Blue Hawaii. The film comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Mono. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the theatrical trailer. This is a fine Paramount release from Presley enthusiasts, or those who have a taste for the pop culture events that were Elvis films.

Elvis movies do not contain alot of content. But they are fun with silly antics and singing. I've enjoyed watching Elvis movies since a child.
