Personally, I liked this version, think Rob Zombie manages to deliver more brutal and shocking death scenes, which manage to keep a realistic feel to them, Michael seems alot more brutal than in the 1st film as well shown by high energy stabbing and carnage. The story line is, however, a little confusing with constant flashes of Hallucinations, and rushed scenes, it may take a few viewings to keep up! I do have a few niggles though, first the young boy who played Michael in the 1st film has been re-cast, dr loomis has turned into a self obsessed to know it all, and Laurie has somehow turned into a skater chick? In summary this film is watchable I enjoyed it by gritting my teeth through the annoying bits and enjoying the rest, not a bad effort!, definitely beats most remakes!
I went in to view this film and was extremely sceptical- remakes are very rarely worth the watch. But from the pre credit scene I was hooked. Gorey, graphic and visually intense, with a little insight into Jason- he is easily one of my favorite horror movie characters and in this film he does not let anyone down. Although full of the cliches that make this kinds of film- such as the not so witty on liners before they fight back- With some really rather gruesome death scene's and suspense that could give you a heart attack I would definately recommend this to everyone- my one warning would be- Watch out for the dogs!
